Chapter 373
“Why the anger?” Though Leon hadn’t uttered a word, Jessica simply knew he was furious.
But his anger carried such conflicted emotions. His gaze was icy, yet laced with tenderness.
There was also a flicker of excitement, barely noticeable unless she looked closely.
Jessica thought to herself, ‘This Demon King is so torn!‘
“Of course, I’m angry seeing you here. Don’t you know how dangerous this place is?” Leon said with a silent sigh.
He was truly furious, yet at the same time, deeply moved.

Leon reached out and gently brushed a withered leaf from Jessica’s hair. “The King won’t be pleased. Have you considered the Yates family’s situation?”
“I know, that’s why I didn’t let Garbisch come with me,” Jessica said, giving Leon a playful wink.
Leon scolded, “This is utterly reckless!” Even though Jessica was highly skilled in martial arts, she was still all alone. Those assassins were armed with thunder grenades. Had she no idea of their devastating force?
Unable to restrain himself, Leon pulled Jessica into his arms and gave her a fierce, tight hug.
Only when Leon felt her steady breath and heartbeat did he finally relax.
His mind was finally at complete ease.
Finally, Leon murmured softly, “But I… I’m deeply moved.”
Jessica had risked her life to save him. How could he not be deeply moved?
As Leon straightened up, his whisper brushed softly past Jessica’s ear. “Jessica, never betray me, or I wouldn’t survive.”
Jessica’s heart clenched. When she looked up at Leon again, his face had already returned to its usual calm composure, as if those words had never been
spoken at all.
If she betrayed him, he would die…
Instinctively, Jessica gave Leon’s hand a gentle squeeze.
But Jessica remained silent.
Magnus hurried over and asked in a low voice, “Ms. Yates, do you know the way out?”
“Yes, Leanna is still outside! We must hurry!” Jessica felt a sudden jolt of anxiety.
No sooner had she entered than Leon took advantage of her. Her mind grew foggy to the point she even forgot about Alivia!
Jessica’s heart raced as she recalled her last glimpse of Leanna, collapsed in the wild grass. She immediately quickened her pace.
Leon walked behind her, with Magnus and Shawn quickly following.
Bringing up the rear were the Northern Cavalry/Garbischs.
Rumor had it that Jessica was formidable, but no one had ever seen her in action.
All they knew was that she was the apple of Leon’s eye.

Chapter 373
Even Leon couldn’t navigate this Stone Forest, yet Jessica moved so quickly. Did she truly have everything under control?
Suddenly, the view before the soldiers opened up, revealing a vast expanse.
A glance back left everyone gaping in disbelief.
They were out! They’d actually made it out!
How long had they even walked? Barely a few hundred paces!
Yet it was these very few hundred steps that trapped them in the Stone Forest, leaving them circling endlessly for days, unable to find a way out.
“Where’s Leanna?” Leon grasped Jessica’s hand, sensing her distress.
Jessica said, “The opposite hillside, someone was watching you there this entire time.”
Jessica pointed decisively toward the distant hillside.

Without hesitation, Leon wrapped an arm around her waist and sprang into action with a powerful leap. Behind them, only his deep, commanding voice lingered. “Let the men rest here!”
Leon and Jessica moved with an agility technique, reaching the hillside in the blink of an eye. But at the spot where Leanna had just fallen, only footprints remained. Her figure had vanished without a trace.
She’d gone.
Jessica spotted bloodstains on the ground. She crouched down and touched them. The blood was still fresh.
Leanna was injured!
Though she hadn’t been in the Stone Forest for long, for a master like her, that was plenty of time to act.
‘Where is Leanna now?‘ Jessica thought anxiously.
