The fire in Natalie’s chest finally cooled a little.
She let go of Finn’s mother.

Finn’s mother immediately stepped back several paces. Once she was sure there was enough distance to be safe, she said, “I was wrong to lay hands on your daughter. But your daughter split my son’s head open. Don’t you owe me an explanation for that?”
“What did you say?”
Natalie froze, stunned.
She turned to Susie in disbelief.
Susie quickly lowered her head.
Natalie’s eyes shifted to Sean.
Sean, looking troubled, gave a small nod.
Not only Natalie, but even Baron stared in shock.
“Susie, did you really split someone’s head open?”
Baron blurted the question.
Hearing that, Finn’s mother immediately pulled out her phone and found the photos and videos she had taken earlier.
“I’m not making this up. I filmed this when I got here. You’re parents too-look at this! If it were your child beaten like this, could you stay calm?”
Her voice caught as she spoke.
Natalie suddenly didn’t know what to say.
The photo showed Finn with blood all over his head, the injury clearly serious.
If someone had done that to her own children, Natalie would have fought to the death.
For the first time, she understood Finn’s mother’s rage.

“I’m truly sorry. But our child would never hurt someone without reason. Still, since Susie did. this, we’ll take responsibility–whether it’s medical expenses or treatment, we won’t avoid it. But before that, can’t we at least ask what really happened?”
Natalie’s tone softened with guilt.
Whether out of fear or something else, Finn’s mother actually nodded.
“Fine. Ask. I want to know too. What kind of deep hatred could a four-year-old possibly have, to strike like that?”
Natalie cleared her throat.
Baron’s face had grown dark.
They had thought their daughter was the victim-but now it looked like she was the aggressor.
Susie was only four. For her to hit so hard left him uneasy.
“Susie!”
He rarely called the children by their full names.
Hearing his voice so heavy and stern, Susie flinched, tears rising in her eyes.
“Daddy, Mommy, I didn’t mean it! Really! I don’t know what happened. For a moment my mind went blank, and when I came back to myself, Finn was already on the ground, bleeding.”
Her eyes were wide with fear and unease.
It was her first time seeing so much blood.
And she was the one who had caused it.
But she had no memory of why she had struck him at all.
Baron narrowed his eyes.
Natalie was shocked too.
Something didn’t sound right about this.
“Sean, were you there when she hit Finn?”
Sean shook his head.

“No. She had a new friend, another girl, and they were playing together. They went to the bathroom together, and when Susie came back with her, she suddenly went crazy and attacked Finn. By the time I realized what was happening, she had already knocked Finn unconscious.”
Baron and Natalic both caught onto a clue in his words.
“That little girl? Is she still here?”
Natalie asked gently, afraid Baron’s stern tone would scare Sean.
Sean looked around and shook his head.
“No. Her name is Anna.”
The teacher, hearing that name, immediately cut in.
“Sean, stop making things up. Anna took the day off today-she wasn’t even here. How could Susie have gone to the bathroom with Anna? Are you just lying to cover for your sister?”
She still resented Natalie for humiliating her earlier, so she jumped at the chance to attack
now.
Natalie’s eyes narrowed.
“Teacher, my son is only four years old. He wouldn’t invent stories just to shield his sister.”
“How do you know? Some children are influenced by their parents-lying from a young age isn’t impossible.”
Her tone dripped with sarcasm.
Natalie was about to respond, but Baron moved first.
A sharp slap rang out.
The crisp sound made everyone flinch.
The teacher stood frozen in shock.
She had never imagined Baron would actually strike her.
“How dare you hit me?”
