Andrew was the youngest and most spoiled in the Logan Family, which made him a bit arrogant and bossy. Because of this, he often acted without restraint. In the Logan family, there was no one he feared except Charles.

So when Serena kicked him, he didn’t react at allnot even a glance in her direction.

When Richard saw Andrew’s behavior, he tapped his cane and said, Andrew, go to the kitchen and bring out the dishes.

Andrew protested loudly, Grandpa, I’m not maids. Why not let Teresa do it?

Richard snapped, Teresa isn’t maid either.”

Seeing Richard get mad, Andrew finally sat up straight. He wasn’t afraid of his grandfather, but he respected him as an elder. But hearing Richard Logan’s words, Andrew couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, It’s not like she hasn’t done this before.

Richard, being older, didn’t catch Andrew’s mumbling. He just glared at him in disapproval.

Charles heard Andrew’s disrespectful comment about Teresa, but he didn’t react much. In a way, Andrew wasn’t wrongTeresa had indeed done similar things before.

It was already pretty late, so Zack called everyone over to take their seats and get ready to eat. Even though Teresa still hadn’t come out yet, Richard silently approved of Zack’s suggestion. Waiting any longer would just make it even later.

After everyone was seated, Teresa still hadn’t come out of the kitchen.

Richard looked worried, so he turned to Charles and said, Go check on Teresa in the kitchen and tell her to stop working so hard. Tell her to come join us. We can all eat together.”

Hearing this, Charles replied in a calm voice, Grandpa, she’ll come over as soon as she’s done with the pie. We don’t need to wait for

her.

Richard’s face darkened. If you’re not going to call her, then I will. With that, he started to get up.

Charles, worried about Richard’s mobility, quickly stood up and said, Grandpa, let me do it instead.

Richard didn’t argue with him and just nodded in agreement.

When Charles walked into the kitchen, Teresa was almost done. Hearing footsteps, she turned around, saw it was Charles, and said, The pie will be ready soon.”

Charles kept a cold look on his face, and his tone was rather curt. Stop fussing over it. Grandpa is waiting for you to eat with us.

Charles felt resentment toward Teresa. He had already informed her in advance that it was Richard’s birthday and that Richard wanted

her to cook.

Yet, when the day came, she had prepared nothing specialjust a simple pie.

Teresa sensed Charles’s dissatisfaction with her, but she didn’t bother looking at him. She just said, I know. You go sit down first. I’ll be right there.

Charles, standing behind her, was running out of patience. Not wanting to argue with her in Logan Manor, he took a deep breath and finally said, I’ll wait for you

The pie was almost done. Though the pie wasn’t anything to boast about, Teresa was the only one who bothered to cook in the kitchen. No one else even thought about stepping in.

Teresa didn’t pay him any mind, taking the baked pie out and writing Happy Birthdayon top with jan

Once she finished, she reached for the pie, but Charles suddenly spoke up, Let me carry it“.

Teresa didn’t argue with him and just nodded. Alright

Together, they walked from the kitchen to the dining room, where Charles placed the pie in front of Richard.

Teresa looked around at the table and realized there was no seat left for her. She just lowered her head with a smile, then turned to get a stool, planning to sit at the corner of the long table

But before Teresa could sit down, Richard suddenly called out to Andrew, Andrew, scoot over. Let Teresa sit next to Charles.“

Andrew scrunched up his brows. Grandpa, why do I have to sit in the corner?

Richard replied, Why not? In my house, Teresa should never sit in the corner. In the Logan family, we never treat our daughtersinlaw unfairly. You and Charles better remember that.

Richard sounded like he was scolding Andrew, but his words were really meant for Charles.

Andrew reluctantly stood up and moved to the corner.

Teresa, seeing this, wanted to tell Richard not to get upset over such small things, but she didn’t get a chance to speak.

Once Andrew moved aside, Serena also moved away from the seat next to Charles, making space without a word.

Richard looked up at Teresa, his face full of gentle kindness. Teresa, hurry up and sit next to Charles.”

Teresa glanced at Charles, who just sat there without saying a word. If it had been before, Teresa would have felt sad. But now, she was just used to it.

Once Teresa sat down next to Charles, Richard finally told everyone to dig in. Richard told Charles, Charles, hurry up and get Teresa some of her favorite food.

Charles didn’t say anything back, just quietly did as he was told. He grabbed a rib and dropped it into Teresa’s bowl, then added a shrimp for her.

Looking at the food in her plate, Teresa murmured, Thanks. Her voice was so quiet that only Charles could hear it, but he didn’t even spare her a glance, much less respond.

The meal continued in silence, with Teresa occasionally catching the disapproving glares from Yvonne. She didn’t care and simply focused on eating.

Andrew took a bite of his food and then quickly spat it out. Ugh, this isn’t Teresa’s cooking.”

Hearing this, Teresa finally spoke up to explain, I only made the pie for Richard. I didn’t make any of the other dishes myself.”

Andrew’s face darkened. Then what exactly have you been busy with in the kitchen all day?

In previous years, Teresa would cook a full spread, and Andrew would eat happily, enjoying every bite. But tonight was differenthe had been expecting her cooking.

Teresa put down her fork and looked at Andrew. I didn’t get to Logan Manor until 7:30.”

Andrew frowned. What? You only showed up at 7:30? Today’s Grandpa’s birthdayshouldn’t you have come back last night? Is this how you act as a granddaughterinlaw?

Teresa kept her gaze on Andrew and replied, I have a job. I couldn’t come back any earlier.”

Andrew, growing more annoyed, slammed his fork down and said, You have a job? What job could you possibly have? Charles has given you so much money. Why go out and make a fool of yourself, making it seem like the Logan family is mistreating you?

But Teresa, no longer the pushover she once was, met Andrew’s gaze firmly and replied, If I’ve been mistreated, maybe you should ask your brother.

Andrew was taken aback by her words and turned to Charles, Charles, I can’t believe she just said that.

Charles shot him a cold glance and said, Eat.

Richard had been quietly listening to Andrew complain about Teresa. He didn’t blow up right awayhe wanted to see just how much ridiculous talk Andrew could come up with

But the more Andrew went on, the more out of line he got, and the angrier Richard became.

Finally. Richard slagnuned his hand on the table in anger. If you can’t show her respect, then get the hell out
