"Enough already, aren't you being a bit too much?"
Lemira shot him a glance, then noticed Timothy sitting in the chair with his head tilted back. She walked over. "You okay? Still bleeding?"
"Mostly stopped."
Timothy spotted the guy next to Lemira and asked, "Heading back to campus together later?"
"Yeah, I need to. I'll treat you to dinner at the cafeteria tonight. I'm really sorry."
"No big deal."
Timothy could tell Lemira wasn't keen on the guy next to her. Standing up, he said, "Let's head out now. Better not risk the cafeteria running out of food."
Lemira nodded and was about to leave, but Orion grabbed her arm. "We haven't cleared things up yet."
Orion didn't want Lemira to go. He had a nagging feeling that if she walked away today, their relationship might be over.
Lemira frowned. "Let go."
Orion was stubborn. "I'm not letting go."
Seeing this, Timothy stepped in. "Listen, buddy, Lemira doesn't want you bothering her. You should know when to back off."
Orion's gaze turned icy as he looked at Timothy. "You'd better stay away from Lemira."
With that, he hoisted Lemira over his shoulder and headed towards the boxing area.
Timothy wanted to help but was stopped by the gym owner. "What do you think you're doing, kid?"
"I'm trying to help."
"What help? That guy isn't someone to mess with. He even bought the gym just so Lemira could practice boxing."
Timothy was stunned. "Aren't you the owner?"
"I'm just the front man. And besides, those two are close. They're just having a spat. Why get involved?"
The gym owner held Timothy back, thinking it was just a lovers' quarrel that would blow over. A third party jumping in could just complicate things.
Timothy glanced towards the boxing area, his expression dimming.
Orion was getting frustrated. "I can spar with you. You don't need to find someone else."
"I won't be sparring with you anymore. I'm not your puppet, doing whatever you say."
Orion felt his temples throb with anger.
He placed his hands on Lemira's shoulders, his voice rough. "I'm not trying to control you. Just think about it—if I got too close to another woman, wouldn't you be upset?"
"So you do get it."
Lemira looked at Orion intently. "That night, besides your grandma being sick, who else were you with?"
"I was at the hospital. Who else would I be with?"
Orion's patience was wearing thin. "Lemira, are you into that guy from before? Is that why you're picking a fight with me?"
"You're turning the tables, you jerk. You were with another woman that night. How long were you planning to lie to me?"
Lemira's tears fell as she grew more upset.
