Lemira and Stella arrived at Bistrova.
With Stella by her side, Lemira easily made her way into Bistrova.
They'd chosen Bistrova this time, mostly because of the fiasco last time when Evander and Evelina had been turned away at the door.
Stella moved slowly, a hint of apology in her voice. "I think I need to hit the restroom first."
Lemira noticed that the floor was a bit damp, like it had just been mopped.
"I'll come with you," she offered.
The two of them headed into the restroom together. Lemira waited by the sinks, but in the next moment, Evelina emerged from a stall.
Evelina wore a sleek white evening gown that fit her like a glove, making her look like a proud peacock.
"Lemira, you actually got in? You don’t even have a membership. Did you shamelessly let your boyfriend leech off Mr. Draven’s membership again?" Evelina sneered, flaunting the large diamond ring on her finger.
"Check this out, Lemira," she said smugly, waving her hand. "Evander bought it for me. It’s a hundred grand. I bet your boyfriend doesn’t even make that in a year."
Evelina was clearly enjoying herself. "I’ve always told you, don’t settle for a broke boyfriend. What good is loyalty and devotion?"
"True, I can’t compete with you there," Lemira replied coolly. "After all, you got dumped by Dorian not too long ago, and as soon as your dreams of wealth shattered, you clung onto my Evander. You’ve always had a thing for money, haven’t you?"
"But my Evander is far more generous than Dorian ever was, isn’t he? That pricey designer dress—you slept with Dorian how many times, and he never bought you anything like it, did he?"
"You’ve got an eye for quality," Evelina boasted. "This dress is a masterpiece by a famous designer. Asher went all out to have it custom-made for me as an engagement gift. There’s only one like it in the world."
Evelina’s voice dripped with pride. "Too bad there’s just one, so Asher gave it to me. You wouldn’t be throwing a fit again, claiming Asher’s being unfair, would you? Especially after you pushed him to admit he was the reason Evander lost his leg. He can’t stand you."
Lemira met Evelina’s triumphant gaze calmly. "Did you forget? I still have that video that could ruin you for good."
Evelina, with a pitiful look, said, "Evander, don’t blame Lemmy. This dress is one of a kind, and she doesn’t have one, so she’s probably just upset."
Evander pointed angrily at Lemira. "Eve is going to be your sister-in-law soon. We’re getting engaged, and it’s normal for her to dress nicely. Why are you so jealous all the time?"
Lemira chuckled dryly. "What do I have to be jealous of? Ever since Evelina swooped into the Langston family, hasn’t everything nice gone to her first?"
"As it should," Evander snapped. "Eve's father did our family a huge favor. If it weren’t for him, you’d have died in that car crash, and you wouldn’t be here as Ms. Lemira enjoying your life."
Evander was furious. "I demand you apologize to my girlfriend right now, and don’t ever speak to her like that again. Don’t make her upset."
"Evander, let it go," Evelina interjected with a smug tone. "I’m wearing this gorgeous dress, and Lemmy doesn’t have one. Plus, you bought me this expensive ring. I’m already making out like a bandit."
Evelina’s voice was laced with bragging. "Maybe Lemmy's boyfriend can’t afford such an expensive ring, which is why she’s so upset."
