When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 670

Lemira and Stella had planned it beforehand, making sure Oanice left early to avoid any trouble.

Mrs. Waverly wouldn't have been polite to someone with no power or influence.

"You went back to the Langston house last night. Was it a complete disaster for the 'two-faced' girl?"

"Pretty much. My brother Evander even hit her."

Lemira was in a good mood. "I just wonder how Stella is doing. I'm a little worried she's getting the short end of the stick."

"She said in the group chat last night that she's fine. After the massive embarrassment Mrs. Waverly suffered, she can't afford to be seen mistreating her niece. She'd never be able to show her face again."

Lemira figured that made sense.

That evening, Lemira returned to the Langston house again.

As she entered the hall, Evander glared at her. "You still have the nerve to come back?"

"Mom and Dad bought this house. Why can't I come back?"

"Because you're the one who got them killed."

Lemira's expression was cold. "But haven't we discovered there was something suspicious about the accident?"

"Don't get it twisted. We discovered there was another driver. But if you hadn't insisted on going out to buy a cake that day, the accident never would have happened. It was just a cake. Would you have died without it? You killed Mom and Dad. How have you been able to sleep all these years?"

Evander was in a foul mood and found the sight of Lemira particularly irritating.

His wedding should have been a grand affair, but now it would have to be low-key to avoid ridicule.

Lemira listened, then cracked her knuckles and walked toward him. "When they amputated your legs, did they take your brain too?"

"What—what do you think you're doing?"

Lemira stepped forward and kicked his wheelchair over.

Evander crashed to the floor, then scrambled up on one leg, flailing as he tried to hit her. But Lemira punched him to the ground, and he couldn't get back up.

She planted her foot on the overturned wheelchair and stared down at him. "You certainly know what to say to hurt me. But I also know how to make your life miserable."

"Lemira, you're a monster!"
