A poor boy from the countryside with a top-tier, stunningly wealthy girlfriend like her was proof enough of his own excellence and charm. If he wasn't Prince Charming, who was?
Even if Henrietta wasn't the heiress to the multi-billion dollar Sargent Group, she was still the epitome of wealth and beauty. Women like her usually entered into strategic marriages with men from other powerful families, yet Henrietta had chosen him instead of some blue-blooded heir. It was a testament to how much she must love him.
Matteo’s ego swelled with unparalleled satisfaction now. He strode forward, channeling the same commanding presence he used when playing powerful CEO roles on screen. His eyes were fixed on the black sedan as he approached with confident steps.
Before he could get close, the doors of the two Ferraris in front opened, and two lean men in black suits and white gloves stepped out, raising their hands to stop him. "May I help you, sir?"
Matteo’s fingers trembled uncontrollably. "I am Miss Henrietta's fiancé."
They were getting engaged today, so it wasn't a lie, was it?
The two men frowned and glanced back at the black sedan. The driver of the sedan, also in a suit and white gloves, got out and gave them a slight nod. One of the men turned back to Matteo and gestured. "This way, please."
Matteo’s heart leaped into his throat. What an entourage! He couldn't resist asking, "Is Miss Henrietta in the car?"
To his annoyance, the two men ignored him completely. Matteo scowled for a second before smoothing his tie and striding forward again. *Insolent drivers! How dare they ignore me? Once Henrietta’s identity is confirmed, I’ll make them pay!*
As he neared the car, he eagerly reached for the rear door handle. But the driver intercepted him, stepping forward to open the door himself with the utmost respect. "Miss."
When Henrietta stepped out of the car, exuding an air of pure elegance, Matteo’s breath caught in his chest. He’d always known she was beautiful, but dressed to the nines, she was breathtakingly stunning, radiating a regal aura that was almost intimidating.
Matteo swallowed hard and immediately stepped closer. "Henrietta."
Henrietta regarded him with her usual cool detachment, not even bothering to nod.
