Jolie hated that look on her. It was bad enough that she was beautiful enough to be despised, but she always put on that high-and-mighty, untouchable act. Who was she trying to impress?
Frowning at the touch, Henrietta pulled her arm away and looked coolly at Jolie. "Your brother and I just broke up, so I have no idea where he is. Today is simply my birthday party. If you are here to celebrate with me, you are welcome. If not, you may leave."
The Coleman family stood frozen in shock. Broke up?
After that, Henrietta turned to walk away again. The Coleman family knew it was her birthday, but upon seeing her, they hadn't offered a single word of congratulation, only asking about Matteo. In their eyes, he was clearly the main character of the day.
Henrietta then noticed that when the Colemans had stopped her, the Nash family entourage walking with her had also paused. As she began to move again, so did they.
Curiosity finally got the better of her, and she glanced over, but the regal and domineering man kept his eyes fixed forward.
Suddenly, Jolie rushed forward again. "Wait!"
Henrietta stopped. Jolie stepped in front of her. "What do you mean by that, Henrietta?"
Henrietta stared at her calmly. "Did you not understand what I just said?"
Jolie's temper flared. "All the guests came here for your engagement, and now you're saying you broke up with my brother? You break up with him and then act like you're the host? That entire outfit was bought by my brother, wasn't it? And those people following you, he hired them, right? You use his money, dump him, and then have the audacity to turn this expensive engagement party he planned into your own birthday party? The nerve!"
Henrietta spoke slowly, her voice clear and cool. "His money? His entire net worth isn't even enough to buy this necklace."
"What?" Jolie frowned, confused.
