When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 6

With that, she walked toward the bed. Her indifferent tone, combined with her words, was enough to drive a man wild.

“Then wait for me. I’ll be quick,” Matteo said, his excitement mounting.

Henrietta sat on the edge of the bed and nodded. “Okay. Make sure you get clean.”

Hearing that from her, his eyes darkened with desire, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. “I will.”

Watching his retreating back as he hurried to the bathroom, Henrietta felt a mix of disgust and amusement. The moment the bathroom door clicked shut, she reached for the phone he’d left on the nightstand and unlocked it. She had access through both his fingerprint and facial recognition.

Given their nauseating exchange, she figured Matteo and Artina had been together for some time, probably since they first worked together nearly a year ago. There had to be a trail, some evidence of their affair. She was going to find it!

Henrietta quickly scanned Matteo’s social media apps and email accounts, but found nothing. His phone was clean, which explained why he felt so comfortable letting her have access.

She frowned. It was impossible. There had to be something. How else did they communicate?

Then, an idea struck her: a dual operating system. She went into the phone’s settings and there it was. She switched to the second system and opened WhatsApp. She’d found it. Artina was the only contact.

Henrietta tapped on their chat, her eyes turning to ice. Just as she suspected, they had started their affair during their first movie together. Their messages were those of a couple deeply in love, calling each other ‘hubby’ and ‘wifey.’ The chat was filled not only with sweet nothings but also with explicit, raunchy messages.

Henrietta raised her own phone and began taking pictures, grateful for such comprehensive evidence.

After quickly photographing everything, she hid the photos in a secure folder on her phone, switched Matteo’s phone back to its original system, and placed it exactly where she had found it on the nightstand.

The vulgar messages she had read made her stomach churn. They were things Matteo would never dare say to her.

So this was what men really wanted?
