Chapter 560
Anathea’s eyes widened in shock, reflecting Gregory’s face looming fat too close for comfort.
1418 sudden, aggressive kiss left her lips tingling. The usual crisp scent of cedar he wore now felt hot and overwhelming as it mingled with his breath. A faint blush crept into her cheeks.
Clenching her teeth, Anathea tried to knee him again—but this time, Gregory was ready. He caught her knee effortlessly, deflecting her strength, and even had the nerve to nip at her already swollen lips.
She hissed in pain.
Only then did Gregory finally let her go. His fingers brushed gently over her now–swollen lips, as though he were fouching a long–cherished treasure.
“Gregory, are you some kind of dog?” Anathea snapped, swatting his hand away with a loud smack
If he weren’t, then why do you bite like one?
Her hit wasn’t gentle. A flush of red immediately bloomed on the back of his hand, but he didn’t seem to mind. Instead, his eyes locked on her lips.
“Your lips are just too tempting, Annie,” he murmured. “How could I possibly resist…”
He couldn’t resist kissing her, touching her, or even crossing that line.
Gregory took a steadying breath, forcing the rising heat in his body back down. However, Anathea caught a glimpse of his
reaction.
“If you can’t control yourself, I’d be happy to help,” she said with a dark smile, her eyes dropping to the growing bulge between his legs.
His eyes lit up with surprise and hope. “Really?”
“Sure,” she said sweetly. “I’ll chop it off for you.”
Gregory chuckled, shaking his head as he let her go. “I’ll have to pass. Besides, you wouldn’t be able to.”
They’d once shared nights full of passion. Even now, the memory of her clinging to him, whispering his name in the heat of desire, still made his chest ache.
He’d fallen for her far earlier than he ever dared to admit. But at the time, he’d been too proud and too slow to realize it.
If he could go back, he would take it all back. He would hold her before she ever felt abandoned. He would tell her that he’d loved her all along.
Unfortunately, there were no what–ifs in this world, and time could never be reversed.
Anathea gave him a cold smile. “Do you really want to find out? Try me if you dare.”
The look she gave him had no room for doubt.
Gregory let out a sigh, feeling defeated. “I wouldn’t dare.”
Right then, Anathea’s phone rang. It was Dayanna.
“Ms. Jacobson, what’s taking you so long? Don’t tell me you two already snuck in a match inside the lounge,” she teased.
Anathea froze, feeling her cheeks heat up. She shot Gregory a glare
If not for him, she would’ve been out long ago–now even Dayanna was getting the wrong idea.
Gregory only shrugged innocently. Ignoring him, she quickly gathered her things and walked out of the lounge.
