When they felt the gust of cold wind outside the bar, they finally felt safe.
Jack asked, "Why were you drinking your sorrows away at the bar alone? Where's your boyfriend, Kyle?"
Slightly tipsy from the alcohol, Luna replied, "I-I don't have a boyfriend. I've asked that bastard to get lost!"
As expected, something had happened between them.
Jack said, "It isn't safe here. You should leave."
Luna stared at Jack with puppy-dog eyes and said, "Oh, I'll follow you wherever you go. Is that okay?"
The question appeared suggestive. Plus, with the gust of the cold wind, Luna had sobered up slightly from the influence of alcohol.
Jack wanted to ask why she had broken up with Kyle, but he felt that it was inappropriate for him to pry into someone else's business.
However, Luna could tell what Jack was thinking. She explained, "That man has serious moral issues. Not only is he involved with many women, he even engages in group activities t-that…"
At this point, even a woman like Luna, who was usually composed, couldn't go on. Her face turned pale instantly.
Luna had only discovered this truth after arriving in Federia.
Jack stayed silent, feeling sorry for Luna.
Even if Kyle had moral issues, it was hard to deny that he hid them really well. He was rich and handsome, and he was the knight in shining armor most girls had dreamed of.
However, some things just couldn't stay hidden forever.
Luna seemed to have figured out what Jack was thinking. The corner of her lip curled into a slight smile as she said teasingly, "Are you laughing at the fact that I'm single now. However, others can laugh at me, but you have no right to do so."
Jack was slightly taken aback. Confused, he asked, "Why?"
Jack had nothing to say to her.
He wanted to deny her claims, but how would he explain what happened with him and Wendy?
Perhaps the first time was a mistake, but when he faced Wendy's seduction the second time, he couldn't lie to himself that he didn't waver.
Luna noticed Jack was silent and said, "Honestly, I knew Bella had no choice. You wouldn't do anything to hurt her either. Perhaps it was fate that pulled you apart."
The atmosphere turned slightly melancholy, so Jack tried to change the topic. "Since you've broken up with Kyle, when do you plan to leave New Vork? It's not safe for a girl like you to be alone in this city. If you need any help, you can call me anytime."
New Vork was nothing like home. Luna was all alone in an unfamiliar place with no one to rely on. She would be susceptible to the danger lurking at every corner.
If she hadn't bumped into Jack by chance, something would have happened to her. However, Jack couldn't always be by Luna's side to protect her, so it was better for her to leave as soon as possible.
Luna's eyes twinkled with mischief, and she chuckled softly.
