A Life Beyond Limits (Jack Holland) novel Chapter 614

Uriah waved his hand with a chuckle.

"Enough with the flattery. It reminds me of my younger days. I was just as ambitious back then. But you and I are different. I chose the safe path, the easy compromise, while you dared to chase after something far greater."

Just then, the office door opened, and two teachers walked in. They froze at the sight of Jack, their expressions shifting to surprise.

Ever since Jack had left for Federia to lead his company's roadshow and IPO, Uriah hadn't stopped singing his praises.

Recovering quickly, the teachers greeted Jack eagerly. When they confirmed he was indeed the CEO of Genesis Games, their enthusiasm noticeably intensified.

Uriah kept his face neutral as he watched his colleagues' envious and fawning expressions. But inwardly? He was ecstatic.

After a few more pleasantries, the professors excused themselves to attend to their work.

Finally, Jack cut to the chase and said, "I came today to ask if you could help me—"

"Let me guess. You want me to waive two of your makeup exams?"

Uriah had already seen right through him. When Jack nodded, he couldn't help but give a wry laugh.

"At least have the decency to lie. You could've said you came to visit me first, then slip in the request. It would've made me feel better. But no, you went straight for the kill. Now, I don't know whether to be offended."

Hearing this, Jack was overwhelmed with gratitude toward Uriah.

Just then, Uriah said solemnly, "I couldn't be prouder of what you've achieved. But you still need to take these exams seriously. I know many have dropped out to pursue their dreams and gone on to do great things. And I'll admit—education isn't the only path to success.

"Your excellence was proven long ago, first as the top scholar in the state exams and then as the founder of a remarkable company. But as your teacher—and as a student before—let me remind you that unless there's an unavoidable reason, I hope you'll see your studies through, even if it means just showing up occasionally for these last 18 months. One day, you'll look back and cherish having experienced a complete university life."

Uriah knew that his role in Jack's journey was nearing its end. Perhaps the last thing he could offer wasn't so much advice as it was perspective.

Uriah wouldn't be surprised if Jack decided to suspend his studies. After all, Genesis Games was undoubtedly more important than any academic obligations.
