Quintis called Jack to inform him that it would be Vincent's birthday in the next few days. He wanted Jack to postpone his studies for the time being to accompany them to the capital to celebrate Vincent's birthday. He didn't know that Jack was already in the capital and had planned to fly there together as a family of three.
Jack didn't want to attend the birthday celebration at first. He had warmed up to Emily and Quintis over the course of a year, but he still had no love for Vincent or the other members of the Lycan family. His displeasure with them stemmed from the fact that they had given the cold shoulder to Emily when he was still a child, and also how they had mistreated him during the last family banquet.
He had been forced to witness the cold way they treated Emily and also endure the insults from the younger Lycan family members. After experiencing such mistreatment once, Jack had no desire to subject himself to such a horrible experience again.
However, Emily and Quintis had been relentless in trying to change his mind. There was also the fact that it was Vincent's 70th birthday. In the end, they had managed to melt a little of Jack's hardened heart.
Besides, based on how Emily and Vincent had interacted with each other at the hospital, Jack was still able to accept how Vincent behaved around Emily.
Jack also didn't want his or his parents' name to be dragged through the mud. He didn't want them to be labeled as ungrateful. Having a meal was no big deal to him, and he would just treat it as him visiting a new restaurant.
He would be fine as long as he was left alone. If they were brave enough to stir up trouble for him, Jack wouldn't show them any mercy.
They shouldn't assume that he wouldn't give them a good beatdown just because they had noble blood running through their veins. He made the decision to react accordingly to whatever happened during the family banquet.
When the next day arrived, it was also time for Jack to give his speech at Montclair Conservatory. Central Media had sent an invitation and informed him of their plans long ago. He would give his speech in Montclair's grand hall. To liven up the atmosphere, Central Media decided that the interview will be conducted in an open-question style.
The five champions of Montclair Conservatory would make an appearance alongside the CEO of Genesis Games, Jack. They would then engage each other in open discussion. Jack would also speak about Genesis Games' future plans, as well as the direction in which the esports industry is projected to advance in.
Thus, Jack ended up eating a simple meal by himself in the canteen. As he ate, he thought about the speech and discussion that would take place in the afternoon. Not only did he have to get his makeup done backstage, but he also had to participate in a few rounds of rehearsals.
Truth be told, Jack was a little worried that attendance for the speech would be low. It was actually common for speeches conducted in a university to have low attendance, regardless of how famous the speaker was.
Some universities would even resort to sending members of the student council to boost the number of people in the audience when they were hosting someone famous, wanting to protect the speaker's pride because they knew that the audience turnout would be abysmal.
However, Jack's status was nothing to sneeze at. He was confident that there would at least be a handful of students who would be willing to sit in for his speech. After all, he was the founder of Genesis Games and was also the leader of the new generation of Iselva's business industry.
Despite how he was still a university student, he had achieved tremendous results, which resulted in him being worshiped and admired by many students across the land.
