Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia) novel Chapter 152

**TITLE: After His Bite, I Learned to Heal**

**Chapter 152: Trapped with the Alpha**

Cecilia

I found myself staring at Alpha Sebastian, my mouth agape in disbelief as I pointed at my own chest. “Me? You want ME to check?”

Was he truly serious?

Sending a mere human woman to confront some unknown creature lurking beneath his bed seemed utterly absurd.

“Cecilia, I’m scared,” he murmured, his deep voice brushing against my ear like a warm caress of velvet.

His breath, warm and slightly shaky, danced against my cheek, and I felt his hand tighten around my shoulder—a strong, powerful Alpha suddenly showing a hint of vulnerability.

The irony of the situation was not lost on me. Here was a man towering over six feet, a figure of pure muscle and supernatural prowess, and yet, he needed ME for protection?

“I’m scared too!” I protested, trying to wiggle free from his grasp, feeling a surge of frustration mixed with disbelief.

As I finally managed to break away and turn to flee, his hand caught my wrist with a firm grip. “Don’t run,” he commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.

In a single, swift motion, he pulled me back against his chest, trapping me in a circle of warmth and muscle that felt both comforting and intimidating.

His broad chest dwarfed me, and I could feel the heat radiating from him. His lips were dangerously close to my ear once more, his breath sending shivers down my spine.

“What would I do if you ran away?” he asked, his voice a low, dangerous whisper that sent a thrill of uncertainty through me. “I’m relying on you to protect me.”

My cheeks burned with embarrassment. This was utterly ridiculous.

Someone needed to put this neurotic boss of mine in check.

“Call Tang,” I suggested, my hand reaching for my phone. “He’d tackle a dinosaur if you asked him to.”

Before I could even dial, Alpha Sebastian smoothly plucked the phone from my fingers and tucked it into his pocket with a casual flick of his wrist. “He’s not in Denver,” he said matter-of-factly.

“Cecilia, be brave,” he encouraged, his hands firmly on my shoulders, steering me toward the bedroom. “You can do this!”

My expression must have been one of sheer horror.

Who knew what kind of monstrosity could be lurking under that bed?

My mind was a whirlpool of terrifying images—rats, spiders, centipedes, bats, snakes…

The rest area was cloaked in darkness, the blackout curtains drawn tight, creating an atmosphere thick with unease.

The only source of light came from the dim sensor lamp by the bedside and the faint glow filtering in from the doorway.

Beneath the bed lay an abyss of pitch blackness. I couldn’t see a thing.

“Go check,” Alpha Sebastian urged, giving my waist a gentle push, as if that would somehow make it easier.

I inched forward a mere three inches before my instincts kicked in, and I retreated three and a half steps.

He chuckled softly, a sound that was both amused and exasperated.

“Can you at least describe what it looks like?” I asked nervously, my heart racing in my chest.

“It moves,” he replied simply, his expression unbothered by the gravity of his words.

Ghosts move too, you know!

My patience was wearing thin, fraying at the edges like an old tapestry.

“Wait, let me think…” Alpha Sebastian seemed to genuinely concentrate, his brows furrowing as he tried to recall details. “Furry. And quite small.”

Furry? Small?

A rat.

It had to be a rat—one of my greatest fears.

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed his arm, my voice trembling slightly. “Alpha, be brave! Let’s call security!”

I attempted to make another escape, but before my feet could even move, his hand held my waist firmly in place.

Alpha Sebastian looked at me with exaggerated resignation, as if he were trying to convince me of something absurd. “How about we be brave together? I’ll go with you.”

What do you mean you’ll go with me? This is YOUR rest area!

Seeing he wasn’t going to let this go, I gritted my teeth in frustration. “Fine. Let’s go together.”

We both crouched down at the edge of the bed, our breaths mingling in the tense air around us.

I quickly removed one of my high heels, gripping it like a weapon, ready to defend myself against whatever lay beneath.

My expression was tense and serious, a mask of determination.

Alpha Sebastian pressed his lips together, suppressing a laugh. “Quite the intimidating weapon you’ve got there,” he teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

I was already on edge, and his teasing pushed me over the brink.

I glared at him, ready to abandon this ridiculous task.

Seeing my indignation, Alpha Sebastian gently patted my head, a gesture meant to soothe. “Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you.”

He turned on his phone’s flashlight, the beam cutting through the darkness beneath the bed like a knife.
