Everyone sat at the large rectangular dining table eating quietly. The only doing that came from the table was the clinking of forck to the plates.

Darlington who was pulled from the lab sat next to his grandson. Osvaldo’s hair was tied into a ponytail revealing his full face to the others and the women there couldn’t help but admire how handsome and deadly the madman can be at once.

They weren’t decieved by his beauty this time. Not when they’ve both seen how mad he can be.

But rather than the usual madness, tonight, Osvaldo had chosen an elegant look tonight. A nice black attire that complemented his Penguin’s white dress.

He ignored the glare from his father in law, smiling from ear to ear. This was all he wanted. To annoy this man in anyway he could. Inviting the Willard’s over was his little way of annoying Xavier and it seems to be working perfectly.

Osvaldo had paused his little trick of destruction of Maybelline and David Willard just to entertain himself a little.

There’s a reason he did not destroy the Willard’s offering of before. He knew their gifts were cheap, destroying them with the others I’ll do nothing to them. He had destroyed the other families valuable like their children tried to destroy his valuable too.

He had another plan for the Willard’s, but he had paused it just for Xavier. He had paused everything just to annoy this man.

"I never knew a day like this would come Penny." Maybelline finally broke her silence using her napkin to wipe her lips as she put down her fork, indicating she was done eating.

"This meal was wonderful, who prepared it?" She asked.

"Mr Abron here madam. He is the head chef." Barnaby said calmly. "That’s good." Was all Maybelline said before turning to her daughter again.

"I’m glad you’re finally back to your senses Penelope. The humiliation you caused us today was big, but you’re forgiven." Maybelline pouted her lips as she stared at her child.

The most beautiful amongst her children, she felt so jealous how she had birthed such beauty. It pained her because Penny was her least favorite. No matter how hard she’s tried to accept Penny she just couldn’t.

There were so many secret that she didn’t want to be revealed. Loving Penny is like letting go and she didn’t want to let go.

Maybelline wished it was Ariana that had Penny’s face. Her baby sure would go places with that face. How did God bless such beauty on someone who didn’t know how to use it?

She wished she could just stab Penny’s face with her fork. Penny has no business looking this good.

When Penny said nothing to her, she continued. "You know I’m your mother Penny. No matter what happens I’m still your mother. You should never treat me that way no matter what I’ve done to you in the past." Xavier tightened his grip on his fork, setting it down before he broke it.

He just couldn’t stand this woman after discovering all of her wickedness to his child. He understood her pain, but she didn’t have to go that far. Not on his child.

"And the other families you humiliated? Oh my God Penelope what were you thinking." May continued to taunt.

"You humiliated the biggest families in all of Owlsgrave. You know all you should be more worried about right now is alliance, not fight. Especially if you’d be spending the rest of your life with a madman. One day you can be a widow." A certain golden eyes finally landed on her, but she ignored his stare.

"And locking your sister away? No matter what she’s done Penelope, Ariana does not deserve to be locked away. She’s your younger sister and as the eldest, you’re meant to endure all of her bullshit. That’s why you’re her sister." May spat.

"She almost killed me." Penny reminded her. She was really getting pissed now, but Osvaldo’s hands on her thighs everytime her mother said something annoying was the only thing that made her calm.

The last thing she wanted was dinner with this woman. Maybelline has hurt her so much that she barely wants anything to do with her.

What was she doing? This was not the plan.

She was supposed to be a good mother to Penny, not blame her for everything.

May suddenly got up dramatically and ran towards Penny, "I’m so sorry dear. I’m sorry for blaming you instead of your sister. You’re right, Ariana had hurt you and deserve to be punished for it." She started.

"I have been the worst mother Penny. I shouldn’t be forgiven, but please my child, for give your mother." She held the hem of Penny’s dress, squeezing it gently.

Maybelline started her performative tears. "Even just now, I’ve shown how much of a bad mother I can be."

"All your life I’ve been ruthless and evil to you. I’m sorry my child." She cried harder. "Please forgive me Penny. Let us start again, let us start a fresh. I promise to love you from the depth of my heart this time." May said.

"Mr Bloodsworth." Maybelline turned to the man seated beside his child. The one she just finished badmouthing.

"I’m sorry for the years of torment. I was just so hurt and couldn’t forgive you. But please let us move past it. Help me beg Penny to forgive me. I’m truly sorry for everything." May said.

"It’s alright." Penny smiled.

"I have forgiven you long ago Mr Bloodsworth. I have nothing against you. We can now both take care of our child the normal way." May smiled.

"I am sorry too Penny, for the way I treated you in the past. I should have known my place from the beginning and never should have challenged you or try to hurt you." Abby chimed in. This was her only chance to be back in the Adkins mansion again and he couldn’t miss it.
