After the brief meeting with his lawyers, Osvaldo walked over to the masters suit since Hughes informed him about her mistress now resting in the room.
Hughes tried as much as possible to not seem nervous around her master so that he wouldn’t notice she has told Penny the truth about everything.
Though Penny had told her she wouldn’t let Osvaldo harm her, but she couldn’t just take Penny’s words like that. She needed to protect herself.
Penny had demanded to test Osvaldo for a week. She would give him only a week to prove he wouldn’t be a harm to her or her child.
Though she still couldn’t believe she was pregnant. But she was a doctor herself, and all the signs she had linked to only one thing. Pregnancy. But she would still need to confirm it along the week.
She had no idea why Osvaldo would want to kill their child and destroy her womb. She didn’t want her womb gone.
It is every girls dream to be a mother at a point in their lives. Maybe hers came a little early, but she couldnt be rid of it. Children are blessing whether they come by accident or not.
And even though her life had been broken from the on start, even though she’s had the worst childhood. She wanted to know what motherhood felt like. She didn’t want to hurt her child as her mother did her.
She couldn’t hate her own. Penny placed her hands on her stomach, curling herself further in bed.
This truly felt like a dream.
She smiled, then she cried. She would shower her child with all of the love she never got. With all the love in the world.
She couldn’t let Osvaldo ruin the moment for her. She wouldn’t let him.
But she loved him...
She loved him so much too...
Penny frowned slightly her tears soaking her pillow as she sniffled.
She couldn’t just listen to the words of a servant over him. What if this was another plot to separate them?
No one knew Osvaldo better than she did.
He wouldn’t hurt her. He’s saved her countless times before. Maybe Hughes misunderstood his kind gestures with evil. She smiled.
Her Osvaldo is always misunderstood. She knew that. But she would prove to Hughes that she had clearly mistaken everything. She would have to test him herself.
Penny had taken a little sample of the liquid drugs in the jar and had sent it to her lab for testing. She hoped, whatever Hughes had said was a lie.
She laid in bed quietly, waiting for her teams response when the door to the bedroom creaked open. She quickly wiped her eyes and shut them.
The bed dipped in by the side and his large arms wrapped her pulling her into his warmth. His scent hit her nostrils and she inhaled deeply. Something about Osvaldo’s scent today made her feel so safe.
Osvaldo’s lips curved, slow and deliberate a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"What is it?"
"I’ve been thinking," he said, his voice dropping into a dangerous calm one he’s never used before. "We need a place that’s... ours. Somewhere no one else dares to interfere. I want to spoil you the way a man should spoil his princess."
Her brow furrowed. "You mean a new house?" Penny asked.
Did Osvaldo want a new house for the baby? Does this mean their relationship has grown into an even higher level?
"Hmm." She heard him hummed.
"B... But there’s nothing wrong with this place."
"Oh, I know," he said softly, stepping closer until she could feel his breath against her cheek. "But I don’t like how many eyes touch what’s mine. Every wall in this place remembers someone else’s voice. I want silence. Just yours."
"I love you Penelope and I’ve decided to spend the rest of my life with you." Penny could feel her heart skip at his words.
Did Osvaldo really mean what he said? She knew Hughes had been wrong all along
He brushed his thumb along her jaw, a touch too tender to be harmless. "So I’ve decided to redo the mansion. You’ll love it. Every inch of it will be built for you, and me."
"Osvaldo..."
"Relax, Penguin." His smile sharpened. "We’re not going far. Only a few feet from the penthouse. You can still visit your family, and Hughes..." His tone cooled, the smile fading. "...if I allow it." he pressed his lips against hers.
