Hannah’s lips quivered as she reached out to clutch Liam’s arm, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face. “Liam,” she sobbed desperately, “I was just… just so afraid you would never take that step.”

Not a trace of love remained in his eyes–just cold indifference and a barely concealed revulsion.
