Alpha’s Regret After His Pregnant Luna Left novel Chapter 245

(Florian’s POV)

The abandoned warehouse reeked of rust and decay. Every shadow seemed to harbor threats as Beta Kael and I moved silently through the crumbling structure on the outskirts of Central Territory.

My golden eyes scanned the debris-littered floor, searching for any clue that might explain the explosion that nearly killed me two years ago. The official investigation had concluded it was an accident, but my instincts had always told me otherwise. “Alpha,” Kael whispered, his voice barely audible. “Over here.”

I followed his gaze to a makeshift table hidden behind a stack of rotting crates. What I saw there made my blood freeze in my veins.

Detailed blueprints of my research facility were spread across the surface. Every security checkpoint was marked. Every guard rotation was documented. Most damning of all were the timing schedules that showed precise planning down to the minute. “Someone knew exactly when I would be there,” I muttered, picking up one of the documents with trembling fingers.

Kael leaned over my shoulder, his expression grim. “This level of detail required inside information. Someone close to your operations.”

I continued examining the papers, my rage building with each revelation. Then I found something that made my heart stop completely.

Communication records.

Pages and pages of coded messages between multiple parties. The handwriting was careful, methodical. But I recognized one of the signatures at the bottom of several pages.

Nathan Snowfang.

“That bastard,” I growled, my hands clenching into fists around the papers. “He’s been orchestrating this from the beginning.

Kael moved to another pile of documents, his face growing increasingly pale. “Florian, you need to see this.”

He handed me another set of papers. These weren’t just about the explosion. They contained detailed plans for territory disputes, pack alliance breakdowns, and strategic attacks designed to destabilize the entire Central Territory.

“This wasn’t just about eliminating you,” Kael observed, his voice heavy with realization. “They wanted to frame the Moonstone Pack for the attack. Potentially starting a territory war.”

The scope of Nathan’s ambitions hit me like a physical blow. All this time, I’d seen him as Audrey’s loyal friend. A trusted ally who had helped her through her darkest moments.

But he’d been playing a much longer game. Positioning himself to benefit from chaos while appearing to be everyone’s savior. “He’s been manipulating everything,” I said, pieces of the puzzle clicking into place. “Every crisis. Every rescue. Every moment when Audrey needed him most.”

My pack device buzzed urgently against my chest. The caller ID showed Cassandra’s name.

“What is it?” I answered immediately.

“Emergency,” her voice was tight with tension. “Lyra Riverwind has disappeared from the hotel where she was staying with her supposed mother.”

My stomach dropped. “Disappeared how?”

“Security footage shows Nathan Snowfang’s transport in the area around the time she vanished,” Cassandra continued rapidly. “Florian, if he has her, and she knows about Audrey’s real identity…”

I didn’t need her to finish. If Nathan realized that Audrey had found her biological family, it would completely change his calculations. His careful web of lies and manipulations would be under immediate threat.

“We need to get back to Central Territory immediately,” I told Kael, already moving toward the warehouse exit. “And contact Arthur Moonstone.”

Kael raised an eyebrow. “Arthur?”

“Whether we like it or not, we may need his resources,” I admitted grimly. “Nathan has been planning this for years. We’re going to need all the help we can get.”

As we raced through the territory roads, my mind worked furiously. Nathan had always been careful to appear supportive of Audrey. What if his protection had actually been a form of control?

What if he had been orchestrating the very dangers she needed saving from, then positioning himself as her knight in shining armor?

The timeline made sickening sense. Audrey’s spirit sickness had begun shortly after she returned to Arthur. But what if Nathan had somehow triggered those episodes? What if her dependency on his help had been engineered from the start?

My wolf snarled with rage at the thought. If Nathan had been manipulating Audrey’s mental health for his own benefit…

“Told who everything?” Yvette demanded, confusion evident in her voice.

Florian and Audrey shared another look. The evidence they’d found at the warehouse painted a very different picture of Nathan Snowfang than the loyal friend Audrey had believed him to be.

“Nathan Snowfang,” Florian said carefully. “We have reason to believe he’s been orchestrating events behind the scenes for quite some time.”

Yvette’s eyes widened with shock. “The Snowfang heir? But he’s been nothing but helpful to Audrey.”

“That’s what he wanted us to think,” Audrey said softly, pieces of her past suddenly taking on new meaning. “His timing was always perfect. Every crisis. Every moment I needed rescue.”

The weight of potential manipulation settled over the room like a suffocating blanket. How many of her struggles had been genuine? How many had been carefully orchestrated to make her dependent on Nathan’s help?

“We found evidence at an abandoned warehouse,” Florian continued, his voice grim. “Documents proving that the explosion at my facility was planned. Communication records linking Nathan to the attack.”

Yvette sank into a chair, her face pale with realization. “If he’s capable of attempted murder…”

“He now knows that you’ve found your real family,” Florian told Audrey, his voice gentle but urgent. “Which changes his calculations completely.”

The implications hung heavy in the air. If Nathan’s plan had involved isolating Audrey from potential allies, her reunion with Yvette represented a major threat to his agenda.

“What kind of danger is Lyra in?” Yvette asked, maternal concern overriding her shock about the young woman’s deception.

“That depends on how useful Nathan considers her to be,” Kael answered honestly. “If she can still serve his purposes, she’ll likely be safe. If not…”

He didn’t need to finish the sentence. Everyone in the room understood the precarious position Lyra now found herself in.
