I had just arrived back at Braden's compound. As I walked into the house I saw my mother sitting on the couch. She looked up and asked me how is Cat? I said not doing good mother. She has lost 20 pounds. She just stares and is like a goddamn zombie. Dan's twin boys take care of her. Make sure she is never left alone. They have become very protective of her.

I said she doesn't get her own food and the boys fix her plate and feed her. She doesn't even know you are there. When you talk to her she shows no expressions. She is like the walking dead. I need to know. Mom is Braden the father of that girl's baby and is she is mistress? Because I don't think he is. I don't think his leopard would let him cheat on his mate.

No, Shane, he is not the father of the baby and she is not his mistress. She was married to Braden's best friend who died overseas. Braden said he would marry her and take the baby as his but he found Cat. He let her know that he found his second chance mate and would not be marrying her after all. He never cheated on Cat. Braden is not doing well either.

He has been looking for her day and night. He has gotten very little sleep since she has been gone. He too has lost weight and cries most of the time. I asked if he was in his office and she said yes. I stood up and walked to Braden's office. As I entered I saw him sitting at his desk with his head in his hands. I heard him talking to himself. I heard I don't know where else to look for her. Where can she be? Are you sure her wolf won't talk to you?

I said, Braden. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. Shane, I can't find Cat anywhere. I walked over to his desk and said. Braden, you need to pack a bag and come with me. Braden asked why? I said I am taking you to Cat. He looked at me asking. You know where Cat is. Have you been hiding her from me? I am going to kill you if you took her from me. I said just go pack your bag so we can leave. She needs you.

On the way to the island, I looked at Braden. He asked what aren't you telling me? Shane looked down at his hand then back of Braden. Well, tell me. Shane sighed and said. Look, Braden, you don't know Cat's full past with Jordan do you? Let me tell you this much. Jordan was a virgin until he and Cat mated. At first, everyone thought things were going really well. Shane turned and looked out the window.

This is the only reason I am taking you to Cat. I believe you. I believe that you did not cheat on Cat. Your leopard won't let you. No one stopped to remember that. We all had flashbacks of what happened with Jordan. I am sorry about that man. Ok, I understand all that but what is happening with Cat now? He said Braden her mind couldn't take it. Her mind has almost completely shut down. She is like a goddamn robot. She does what she is told. The twins will tell her to go take a shower and will give her clothes to wear. They tell her to come and sit at the table. She doesn't even feed herself or drink without them helping her. She doesn't even recognize me her own brother. The twins have been with her since she arrived at the island. That is why she only sees and hears them.

Braden what I am trying to say is I don't know if she will recover. I don't know if she even remembers she is pregnant. Hell, I don't know if she even knows she is alive. We have watched her just get up and walk. The twins follow her everywhere. Thank god they do because one day she walked up to the cliffs not looking down, looking straight ahead and would have walked right off if the twins had not followed her.
