Alpha's Stubborn Daughter novel Chapter 70

The boys will take her out to the barn when they feed the animals hoping they will bring her out of it but she pays them no mind. There is one dog that has attached itself to her. This animal no one could get close to but for some reason, it started sitting close enough to watch Cat. Then one day one of the boys walked into the house to get Cat some water and when he started to back outside he saw this dog laying at Cat's feet.

She didn't move, she didn't acknowledge it was there. He walked out and over towards Cat and when he was within three feet of Cat it raised its head watching him. He slowly walked over keeping an eye on the dog and handed Cat the water telling her to drink it. The dog watching all of this. As they sat there Dan came out of the house and walked over to sit next to Cat when the dog saw him reach out for the chair it growled at him.

It didn't want Dan anywhere close to Cat. This dog seems to understand what Cat is going through it also doesn't seem to be far away from Cat. Braden, I don't think Cat will even recognize you. This bitch has ruined everything. Braden asked Shane if he was sure this was a real dog and not a shifter. Shane asked, what are you talking about of course it is a real dog. Shane, you have to listen to me.

We have been all over the world. We have witnessed things a lot of people haven't. There are humans who are able to shift into whatever they want. Some are good and some are bad. Some do it to harm others some to protect. What I am saying is, is it possible that this dog could be a human that has been abused or even witnessed someone else go through really bad stuff and after seeing Cat doesn't want her to do anything that would harm her or just wants to keep her safe.

Shane thought for a minute and said. We need to watch this dog and discuss the possibilities with Dan. Dan said he has never seen this animal before. That is not until We arrived on the island. As the chopper started to lower to the ground and saw Dan sitting in the jeep waiting for us. As Braden reached the jeep he shook hands with Dan. Dan looked at Braden with sad eyes. He said, Braden, I wish I could have met your mate under different circumstances.

I am sorry that Travis's mate lied and started this mess. He said, looking at Braden remember what I told you right after Travis was killed. I told you not to let her live on your island. I told you to send her back to her own family and she was nothing but a gold digger. He handed a note to Braden. Braden looked up and asked what is this? I said, read it. Read it out loud. Dan, I need for you to contact Braden and let him know that Kara had her baby. The baby isn't Travis's baby.

I just wanted you to know. Braden said I appreciate that Dan. I appreciate that you allowed my mate to come here to keep her safe. Not many would do that knowing my reputation. Dan looked at Braden and told him. I owed this to you after you took care of my mate when she was attacked while I was overseas. It is the least I can do. He reached out and started the Jeep driving up the driveway to the house. As we got out of the jeep Braden saw twin boys standing at the door with their arms folded across their chest looking at him with icy eyes.

One stepped forward and said. You will not be sleeping in Cat's room. Not yet anyway. We don't know you, and until we know that she welcomes you acknowledge she feels safe with you, you will sleep in the room next door to her. Braden grinned and agreed. He decided that he would allow the boys to be Cat's bodyguard. Just as we all started to walk into the house another jeep stopped out front.
