Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground novel Chapter 1310

Chapter 1310: Desperation

Atticus was grateful for the information. But that didn’t erase the fact that the king had come to kill him. If Atticus wasn’t as powerful as he was, they wouldn’t be talking.

’There’s also that...’ There was something else that had caught Atticus’ attention, something that made him pause.

"It is my hope that you wouldn’t kill any of my warriors," the king started.

"As long as they fall in line."

The king nodded, then hesitated, but he forced himself to continue.

"I have a feeling your potential will get you to the top. And my second in command is far too stubborn not to reach the top with you. I want you to deliver a message for him, your eminence."

He took Atticus’ silence as permission. "When you reach the top, please revive my wife and daughter."

’There it is again.’ Atticus’ eyes narrowed. This was why he had chosen to hear the king’s last wish.

Revival.

It was one of Atticus’ own goals, to reach the top and bring back those he had lost. His grandmother especially.

Atticus was facing an inner dilemma he rarely experienced. Kancilot had tried to kill him. It was only right that he kill him too.

But the desperation in the king’s eyes was undeniable. He would do anything to bring his family back.

’I can use it.’

Atticus would be extremely busy in the middle planes, dealing with other worlds, training, politics, and preventing his own world’s destruction.

From what Whisker told him, enemies would come from all sides. Having someone dedicated to finding out how to revive the dead could be useful.

Plus, the king was right, controlling the god meant controlling the world.

"Did you make any pact with the man?" Atticus finally asked.

Kancilot shook his head fiercely. "No, no," he said quickly. "I’m sure he assumed I wouldn’t betray him because of my family’s revival."

"Admit defeat."

At those words, the king’s eyes flew wide.

...

Whisker’s expression had twisted, and he avoided Ozeroth’s mocking gaze.

He had confidently claimed that Atticus would only need a second to deal with the king, but several seconds had passed, and nothing had happened.

The warriors of Kariot clenched their fists, hope flickering to life within them. Lancaster had already informed them of where their king had gone.

If their king had lasted this long in the arena, then maybe, just maybe, he had found a way to match the child monster.

None of them dared engage Ozeroth or Whisker. If their king won, the world would be theirs regardless.

As they all waited with bated breath, a frown appeared on Ozeroth’s face.

"Bond is taking too long." Even he had to admit that Atticus was taking longer than expected. They had all seen how overwhelming the odds were.

Suddenly, streaks of light tore across the horizon, surging toward them. Magnus, Avalon, and a handful of other Eldorians appeared in front of them.

"Where’s Atticus?" Magnus asked, his killing intent slamming into the circle members with crushing force.

Lancaster raised a hand, stopping the others from responding with their own killing intent.

"We have to wait for the king," he said firmly.

"He’s in the arena of gods," Ozeroth responded, his tone drawing narrowed looks from Magnus and Avalon.
