As cars came and went past his car, he stared at his phone in silence for quite a while.
Finally, he put his phone away, started the car again, and drove to the villa.
The sky darkened gradually.
After parking the car, he walked straight into the villa.
Pushing the main door open, he coldly said with a straight face, “Stephanie.”
No one responded.
Only then did he realize the lights were off, and the entire villa was in the dark.
He couldn’t help but be slightly stunned. In the past, Stephanie had always left a light on for him. Many times, she’d fallen asleep waiting up for him.
With a snap, he turned on the light.
She wasn’t on the sofa.

He had felt irritated before because of Roxanne’s illnes urge to go back to the manor. And now, a wave of inexplicable restlessness surged within him, and he couldn’t even put his finger on why.

She wasn’t in the living room, the kitchen, or the bathroom.
Then he entered the several bedrooms and the study, and there was still no sign of her.
He thought, “She’s not home.
“And she wouldn’t answer the calls.
“Where is she?
“It seems she’s pretty upset this time, and she’s making quite a scene.
“Forget it.
“She’ll come around. Roxanne only has six months left, and I’ll remarry her after that.
“But even though she’s pissed and won’t go back to the manor, I still have to.”
At this, he went to the storage room to fetch some health supplements.
Before he walked out the door, he thought about it, put the things down, and went back to their bedroom.
The scent of Chanel No. 5 filled the air.
The perfume was a gift from him.
His knitted brows relaxed a little.
After grabbing a few sets of clothes, he left quickly.
He didn’t notice that in the big closet he and Stephanie had once shared, only his clothes were left.
And all the couple’s items were now singles.

Meanwhile, McKayla and Stephanie were getting their nails done at a beauty salon.
Noticing that Stephanie had chosen pregnancy–safe nail polish, McKayla shook her head helplessly.
“Why bother? You’re gonna get an abortion, right?”
Stephanie smiled, “Why not? At least I still haven’t had an abortion yet.”
McKayla shrugged and continued to enjoy her own shiny nails with a satisfied grin.
Yet, after saying this, Stephanie lowered her head slightly and looked at her nails.
Maxwell had stomach issues.
