“If it were you, would you be friends with a woman who gets involved with your husband?” After saying this icily, she waved at McKayla in her car.

“Stephanie!” Maxwell’s voice, laced with fury, rang out behind her.

But she remained standing in place stubbornly as if she hadn’t heard him at all.

Soon, McKayla got her out of the paparazzi’s swarm.

Before walking away, McKayla scoffed, “If I hadn’t known, I would have thought you were confronting a homewrecker here, Steph. Seriously–even other homewreckers would call her shameless!”

“You…” Furious, Roxanne wanted to say something.

Yet, McKayla immediately cut her off. “Me what? Did I say anything wrong? Go ahead and rally the paparazzi against me if you want. That’s your expertise, isn’t it?”

Roxanne’s expression darkened even more, and she pretended she was going to faint.

Ignorant onlookers fell for her facade and all panicked, rushing forward to help her.

Meanwhile, McKayla helped Stephanie into the car, and they left without looking back.

“Don’t worry. I can tell from my experience she was just faking it,” McKayla comforted Stephanie.

She smiled helplessly, saying, “It’s you I’m worried about. What if you get dragged into this? What if it costs your job?”

Seeing the red light ahead, McKayla slammed on the brakes and grinned at her.

“Girl, in case you’ve forgotten–my dad’s the director.”

Stephanie rolled her eyes. “In case you’ve forgotten, you said before you’d never acknowledge he’s your dad.”

McKayla’s grin grew bigger. “We shouldn’t stick to the usual rules in times like this, don’t you think?”

They joked around for a while. As the light turned green, McKayla continued driving now that she was certain Stephanie really was fine.

“I’m free this afternoon. Boss me around however you want,” she said generously.

Amused, Stephanie smiled slyly.

“You know, I do have a favor to ask.”

“What’s that?” McKayla looked at her, blinking innocently.

“Help me move.” She grasped McKayla’s wrist. “Too late to regret!”

McKayla surrendered at last.

Along with organizers and movers, they came to Stephanie and Maxwell’s villa, where they had shared a year together.

The two got married in a rush, and everything had beer ranged hastily.

Over the past year, it had started to feel like a home thanks to Stephanie’s effort.

It was such a shame to see her effort go to waste.

When McKayla bossed the organizers around, Stephanie picked up a bottle of Chanel No. 5 from the shelf.

Maxwell had bought it during a business trip. It was his first gift for her after they got married.

It was a classic scent.

He had returned home straight from the airport.
