Betrayed and Dumped: She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 14

Greg glanced over at Stephen. “Mr. Duncan, we can’t keep running things this way. If we do, Sunforge Tech’s reputation will be shot. Clients will stop trusting us.”

Stephen folded his arms and gave a noncommittal shrug. Instead of answering Greg, he turned to Rebecca with a smile. “Ms. Harper, what’s your take?”

Greg’s brows pulled together in irritation. Why was Mr. Duncan asking her? She was just a sales rep, all style, no substance. What could she possibly know about this? She’d probably just try to play peacemaker, like always.

He hid a smirk, waiting for Rebecca to embarrass herself. If she tried to stick up for the sales team. he was ready to shoot her down.

Rebecca paused, thinking it through. She knew every tech company ran into this kind of thing. Sales, R&D, delivery—they all depended on each other, but their interests often clashed.

Greg rolled his eyes. She’s just putting on a show. She doesn’t have a clue.

But then Rebecca spoke up. “I get where Greg’s coming from. But I’ve looked over Justin’s proposal. The way he described the product isn’t really wrong. That’s the kind of solution the client is looking for.”

Greg pounced. “But our current product doesn’t meet the client’s requirements, Ms. Harper. Do you even know what our product does? I bet you haven’t even seen the demo.”

Rebecca’s smile didn’t waver. “I’ve seen it. Sure, we can’t meet those requirements right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get there.”

Greg’s face tightened. “What’s that supposed to mean? The bid deadline is less than two months away. Don’t tell me you want R&D to roll out a whole new version by then. I’ll be honest, even if we worked nonstop, it’d be a stretch.”

Rebecca lifted an eyebrow. “That’s not what I’m asking. I’ll help you guys pull it together.”

Greg snorted. “You? You don’t know the product, you don’t know the tech. How exactly are you going to help?”

Stephen coughed, covering his mouth with his fist. “Greg, ease up.”

Rebecca didn’t seem to mind at all. She was new and she got that people were still sizing her up.

“Do you think I have no idea about the product or the tech? Starting tomorrow, I’ll move over to the R&D department and work right alongside you.”
