Kelly’s POV
I took a deep sigh for the nth time today. I’m waiting for Pierce and Snow in my office. I couldn’t process everything that Attorney Lee had said. I’m confused and curious at the same time. I know everything about mom’s family except from the fact that she’s adopted. Does she know about that?
Mom was an heiress. She was abducted when she was young. I suddenly got interested about my mom’s real family. Foster. She was Eva Foster before she became Kate Peterson.
Dad might know something but he’s gone. I have no one to ask about mom but her real family. Attorney Lee said Madam Foster is dead and the only relatives left are mom’s siblings.
“Mommy!” Snow entered my office. She looked very happy as she walked towards me and climbed on my lap.
I smiled at her and kissed her hair. “Hmm! How’s your company visit, madam?”
She giggled. I saw Ana drop her body on the couch. She looked exhausted while Pierce sat on the chair in front of me, watching us.
I don’t know if this is the right time to tell him about Snow. The truth about mom’s real identity exploded right on my face. I was too shocked to think about something else.
“You okay?” Pierce asked worriedly. He seemed to notice my mood.
I shook my head. “No.”
He stared at my face while I didn’t look away even when his eyes and the emotions in it were drowning me.
“Mommy, I saw daddy Pierce’s dad in his office.”
Mr. Anderson was there?
“Dad visited. It shocked me too.”
I nodded. “Mr. Anderson is a naturally cold man but he cares, Pierce.”
“I know. I realized it now.”
I smiled. At least he learned to forgive his dad even when he hated him ever since then.
“Daddy, can I go to your house again?”
Hearing Snow call her father that makes my heart skip a beat. Everytime Snow calls Pierce daddy, his eyes would always soften. They didn’t know but their hearts can tell. If I tell him the truth now, it might affect Snow because he will surely get mad at me. Hurting my daughter is the last thing I want to happen, although I know, hiding the truth is worse.
When Snow went to Ana, sitting on the couch, I looked at Pierce again. He seemed so curious because of my answer a while ago, but he’s scared to ask. He’s afraid I’d get mad.
“Mom was adopted,” I started. I’m telling him now because he’s curious but because I need someone to talk to. I think I’d go crazy if I keep this inside me.
He looked shocked and was too shocked to even say anything.
[Kelly...]
“You’re so shameless, Klay! After everything you’ve done to me, do you think you still have the right to comment on my life decisions?”
[You are still mine, Kelly. Just be thankful that you didn’t get pregnant with my child—]
“Falling in love with you was the worst thing that ever happened to me and yes, I’m thankful that you didn’t get me pregnant. I don’t wanna get pregnant with a devil’s child!”
[Stop it, Kelly! I won’t allow you to go back to him! You should be with me! Not with that asshole! Did you forget how he made a fool out of you? He played with you!]
“Just like what you did to me?” I said sarcastically.
[I didn’t play with your feelings.] I can say that he’s gritting his teeth in so much anger but I don’t care anymore.
“Just stop, Klay. Let me live in peace.”
[No, Kelly! Don’t you dare tell him about his daughter. If you do, I won’t hesitate to take your daughter away from you. He doesn’t deserve to be happy. He doesn’t deserve you!]
I sucked my breath. “Don’t you ever involve my daughter in your stupid revenge plan, Klay. I will never ever forgive you!”
[I can take your anger. I can accept your hatred. What I can’t accept is you going back to him after he ruined us. You are originally mine, Kelly. Remember my words. You can’t tell him about his daughter.]
