Chapter 12
“Yo, hot stuff! There’s a girl at the entrance collecting your gifts and flowers, Says she knows you Better hurry–it’s raining out there. Would be a shame if she caught a cold!”
Hearing this, julian and Maverick exchanged glances, both seeing the excitement and hope in each other’s eyes.
Maverick could hardly contain his elation, rushing outside toward the entrance.
Julian followed, his pace quickening despite himself.
Could it be Hazel?
They both entertained this impossible fantasy.
Maybe she really was just playing a prank on them.
It didn’t matter if they weren’t at the same school–as long as she still accepted their confession!
They shared this thought as they approached the entrance, Maverick’s heart pounding wildly, while Julian’s Adam’s apple bobbed nervously several times.
But when the girl holding their bouquets turned around, they froze in their tracks.

Unfortunately, neither boy was in the mood to appreciate her effort.
Maverick dismissed her with disappointment: “You don’t need to watch these. Just go back.”
“Hazel… isn’t coming,” Julian said, staring at the scattered flowers with despair.
They never expected this outcome.
Their hearts, so full of hope just moments ago, now felt painfully empty.
So they had no patience to comfort Rose.

Chapter 12
“Julian, Maverick, don’t lose hope! Hazel… she just hasn’t made up her mind yet. Maybe after some time, she’ll come around!
“Look at these wonderful gifts you prepared. Girls like me would love them, and I’m sure Hazel will too!”
Unfortunately, neither Julian nor Maverick was really listening.
These boys, who once couldn’t bear to see Rose suffer the slightest discomfort, now seemed oblivious to her standing in the
rain.
