Marcus’s Pov

Rufus got out of the car and opened the door, I stepped out and scanned the area before walking into the cafe, with Pufus following closely behind ing Two other bodyguards flanked me on each side. It wasn’t hard to spot her in the crowd. She was easily the most beautiful person in the room. Her blonde hair cascaded in waves down her shoulders.

She had a mug in her hands, halfway towards her mouth when she saw me. Her eyes were the prettiest shade of blue had ever seen. I stared intently at her as her eyes lit up, her checks turned red, and her full lips slowly curled into a smile. She waved at me.

Admittedly, I took a long time to walk up to her because I was entranced by her beauty. I dramatically cleared my throat as I got near. “Hello, hy, what a surprise to see you here!”

She flashed me a perfect smile. “Oh, this is my favorite spot. I would come here every day if i could…”

“Can 1…” | gestured towards the chair.

I reached forward to touch her hands. Her cheeks heated up again, but she didn’t pull away. “No, I just wanted to see you. I have a feeling you and I would be great friends. Of course, I could have asked my brother, but…” I trailed off and shook my head, “As you may have already guessed, Asher and! are like Venus and Mars”

She smiled politely. “I wonder why.”

“It’s a surprise he hasn’t told you anything about us. I wonder how much he has told you about him?”

She lowered her gaze and didn’t answer. Thankfully, a bright–eyed waiter arrived at that point. He was a tall, huge man with a ginger–colored beard on his chin, a wide smile, and looked like he had skipped in excitement all the way here. “What can I get you, sir?” he asked.

I looked at her, “Whatever the fine lady had.”

That shy smile appeared on her face again. “Are you sure? My choices are…”

“Perfect, I’ll have exactly that, thank you.”

The man tipped his head and hurdled off,

“They all seem so excited that we are here. I’m willing to bet their sales will skyrocket after today,” I commented.

“They are really kind people, and usually, they don’t bother me at all. She paused for a moment. “I can come here and pretend like I’m normal, you know?”

I thought about it. “I never want to act like a normal person,” I admitted. I caught the look in her eyes, “I mean, surely it has its perks, I guess, but I’ve only ever known this life, and I’ve grown to love it. I peered around, “Do you have security?”

She nodded, “Usually, they just drive around the area until I’m ready to leave, I don’t want to make any of the guests uncomfortable…”

We both turned to look at the three hefty man standing behind me, dressed in a balcony suit and sunglasses

“So, they have to go?” I asked.

She nodded and smiled.

Well, who could say no to that beautiful smile? I turned to Rufus and whispered in his ear; they turned and left.

“So, it’s just the two of us…” I said with a smirk on my lips.

The waiter appeared with my order at that moment, and now I was annoyed with the man. I stared at the tray in front of me in surprise, leaned closer, and sniffed the cup. “This is coffee.”

“Yes,” he answered, “Miss Whitfield likes to have coffee with loads of cream and sugar and a sprinkle of coffee.

They both giggled at their little inside joke they shared.

I sighed, “Well, I asked for it, didn’t I?”

She nodded, “I warned you.”

I smiled at her, “So, how was your trip? I hope my brother wasn’t too much trouble; he can be quite a handful.my eyes were fixated on her, looking for

CUPS.

I saw that her smile didn’t quite reach her eyes, “It was okay. We did a lot of fun activities together, new things-

“Yes, my brother made it his job to update us with every single picture and every single moment. We experienced the whole trip with both of you,” I took

a large sip from my cup. “You, on the other hand, well, you were really silent.”
