Asher’s POV
I let her go after that. I watched as she ascended the stairs, stealing glances at me and blushing profusely I couldn’t go after her I didn’t trust myself la keep my hands off her if followed her up to her bedroom. I wouldn’t hold back, so I stayed at the foot of the stairs, my cock straining in my pants.
i peeked at my watch, it was a little past 9pm. I downed the contents of my glass; I couldn’t stay in the house knowing she was up there. I tried to imagine what she was up to, picturing her naked in the bath, which did nothing to help me. The mansion didn’t feel big enough to protect her from me if. I stayed any longer, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from charging into her room.
I rang for the housekeeper. A tall, fat lady with black hair tied back appeared at the doorway. “My wife needs h-“I paused. “My wife,” I repeated, savoring the words. It made me feel so good on the inside. I looked to see the housekeeper still staring at me expectantly
“My wife needs help,” I continued. “She’s drunk. Ensure she has everything she needs.”
“Of course, Mr. Sterling.”
I grabbed my keys and turned to leave. I needed a drive alone to clear my head.
The bass pounded through my chest, rattling my nerves as I stood by the bar, nursing my drink, Somewhere on the drive, I had called Luca to ask for his location. Of course, it was a club. I didn’t expect anything else. He was on the dance floor, caught in a wild tangle of people, his usual grin plastered across his face. The loud music thumped, making it hard to think. This was where I had to be my thoughts about Ivy had been spinning in circles lately.
and I needed the distraction.
I was scanning the room when I noticed her- Taylor. I was still staring when Luca walked up to her and whispered something in her ear. Then he caught me from the corner of his eye. They walked up to me, hand in hand.
“Asher!” he yelled and pulled me into a hug.
“Hello, Luca,” I patted his back. Taylor was staring at me with a smirk.

tune.
“My man!” Luca cheered. “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
I shrugged. “Well, a man could use a bit of unwinding,”
Taylor dramatically cleared her throat.
Luca’s eyes widened. “Oh, I’m sorry I haven’t done introductions.” He tapped my shoulder. “This is my brother, Asher, of course, you know him…” He turned to me. “Asher, this is Taylor. She’s a model, just like hy. She’s been to the club a couple of times…” He cupped his mouth. “She’s fire, I tell you, but that’s none of your business–you’re married.”
I flashed her a smile. Hutto, Taylor. Nice to meet you,” I didn’t extend a hand. I also didn’t want Luca to know I already knew her.

Luca nodded.”
“Good, introductions are done. Excuse me for a moment, guys.” He turned around to leave.

“Asher, I didn’t expect to see you here, Taylor Said as soon as Luca was out of earshot.
“Didn’t expect to be here,” I replied, lifting my drink with a shrug.

Chapter 43
I couldn’t tell if she was joking, but I wasn’t in the mood to dig too deep. “Why wouldn’t shot Ivy and are fantastic.”
Taylor laughed, a dry, low sound. “Fantastic, huh? So, you wouldn’t mind if I chuck around tonight?
I gave her a nonchalant shrup, taking another sip of my drink “Not at all. I couldn’t be bothered.” I set the glass down, glancing at Luca as he sport through the crowd.
She watched me, her head tilted as if sizing me up. “Bight. So you’re totally faithful to buy, then?” she asked, her voice casual but sharp, like a blade disguised in silk.
“Why do you care?” Lasked with an amused grin.
She leaned closer, her voice barely a whisper over the music. “Because I know people like you, Asher. You play the role, say all the right things…but when it comes down to it, you’re terrified of commitment. You’d rather keep your options open, play it safe. And your reputation it precedes you.”
