Bound by Magic, Married by Fate novel Chapter 104

There were countless rumors about Lucius in Windmere, but every story could be summed up with the fact that Lucius was dangerous.

Valerie asked, "What if I'm already involved with him?"

Lucinda took a sip of her drink. "What do you mean by that?"

Valerie coughed awkwardly. "He's my legal husband now."

Lucinda choked and started coughing so hard that she almost passed out.

Valerie hurried forward to help and managed to save Lucinda from her own drink.

Once Lucinda caught her breath, she threw the drink aside and glared. "Did I hear you right? What did you just say? Lucius is your legal husband? You got married? When did that happen?

"Valerie, is that the real reason you disappeared for a whole year? It's been a year—don't tell me you two already have a kid? Is it a boy or a girl? How many children do you have? What are their names?

"Wait, if you two are legally married, why wasn't there a wedding?"

Lucinda's voice suddenly rose. "I get it now! Your marriage is a secret! Did you force him, or did he force you? No, that can't be right. Someone as fierce as you wouldn't be forced into anything. So if he didn't, did you force him then?"

Lucinda gave Valerie a meaningful look. "What is it about him that caught your eye? His looks? His money? Or does he have some kind of special habit that you couldn't resist?"

Valerie rubbed her forehead helplessly. "Lucinda, with your level of genius, you really should've gone into film instead of wasting your talent sketching suspect portraits for the police."

Under Lucinda's threatening stare, Valerie finally raised her hands in surrender and told Lucinda everything. She told Lucinda why she had married Lucius, and why they were now living together.

When she finished explaining, Lucinda clicked her tongue in disbelief. "What was Magnus thinking? Doesn't he know that the one you really like is Harper?"
