Naomi looked exasperated. "What's wrong with you? How could you not even remember the properties that your family owns? I'm talking about that old, run-down place in Pentaring.

"Once, when you drove past it, you told me your dad bought it as an investment years ago, but it hasn't been touched since."

With Naomi's reminder, Sonia finally realized what Naomi meant. "Right, that place. It's one of my family's properties. Why are you asking?"

The Woodward family owned quite a few properties, and most of them were located in prime downtown areas.

However, that old mansion was in a remote area and had long fallen into disrepair. Sonia had completely forgotten it even existed.

Naomi put on a sweet, ingratiating smile. "Well, a few days ago, I did something that upset Dale, and he's been ignoring me ever since. If this continues, it'll only be a matter of time before we break up.

"You know how it is. If our families weren't close, and if Dale didn't care so much about what his elders thought, I might not even have had a chance with him."

Naomi's pursuit of Dale wasn't exactly a secret. No matter what tricks she had used, the fact remained that she had succeeded in bagging him.

Sonia appeared to listen attentively, but she was sneering inwardly.

She had never gotten over the humiliation she suffered at The Golden Chalice. Naomi had stirred up trouble, while Dale sat by and did nothing.

She couldn't afford to offend the Zingers or the Harringtons, so she swallowed the humiliation and pretended nothing had happened.

Naomi continued, "To make it up to Dale, I want to give him a huge gift. I was thinking that the gift could be your family's old mansion."

Sonia snapped out of her thoughts. "Did I hear you right? You want to use my family's property to please your boyfriend?"
