Adriana shot Belinda’s classmate a sharp glare. “Why are you so pressed about Curtis picking her up? He’s not even related to you.”
Right then, Curtis showed up with two candy apples in hand, stopping behind Adriana. He passed one to her and gave the other to Belinda.
Belinda’s eyes lit up as she turned to the nosy girl. “See? None of your business!”
Seeing that Curtis had actually shown up, her classmate let out a huff and quickly walked off.
go home.”
Curtis smiled at Adriana and opened the car door for her. “Let’s
Belinda tried sneaking into the back seat, but Curtis grabbed her collar and nudged her toward the front. “Nice try, kid. That’s my seat.”
Belinda groaned dramatically before climbing in and slamming the door.
She suddenly felt like Curtis actually liked Adriana.
Was that good news or bad?
“Adriana, tomorrow is Saturday. Wanna go shopping?” Belinda asked, her mood bouncing right back.
Adriana was about to agree, but Curtis cut in. “Nope. She’s got plans.”
Belinda’s face fell, her excitement gone in a flash.
“And show her some respect. Understood?” Curtis added, figuring she was way too rebellious and had zero manners.
Adriana glanced at him. He looked pretty intimidating when serious.
Still, he was her sugar daddy. As long as their contract marriage was in effect, she had to play along. Thirty million a year wasn’t something to mess up.
Curtis took both Adriana and Belinda to a fancy restaurant. Once the girls were full and happy, he treated them to a movie.
Inside the theater, he held Adriana’s hand the whole time. She sat stiff as a board, her mind racing and heart pounding too fast to follow the plot.

Did they really have to hold hands during a movie?
But if that was what her sugar daddy wanted, she’d just deal with it.
Afterward, Curtis bought ice cream for both girls.
Belinda felt like an unwanted third wheel.
She studied Curtis carefully. He seemed to be into Adriana now.
There was no one else around, so if he was faking it, why keep pretending?

“Ready to head home?” Curtis asked Adriana softly, watching her nibble at her ice cream.
She nodded obediently.
Curtis smiled, took her hand, and led her into the elevator.
Belinda was about to step in when he pressed the close button too soon. The doors almost slammed into her.
She was startled, almost dropping her ice cream.
Curtis looked apologetic, clearly too focused on Adriana to notice Belinda.
Belinda stood there, feeling a mix of grievance.
What’s up with Curtis lately?
In the underground parking lot, the three of them spotted Matthew’s car just as they arrived.
Matthew was about to lock it when he noticed Adriana.
She froze, then instinctively moved closer to Curtis.
He was pleased with her reaction and wrapped an arm around her. “Mr. Langford, what a coincidence.”
Matthew’s face darkened, but he said nothing. His eyes stayed fixed on Adriana.
Curtis led her past him and helped her into the car.
Adriana kept her head low the whole time, never daring to meet Matthew’s gaze.
He didn’t call out to her either, though his eyes followed her until she disappeared.

“Mr. Langford, the gifts you ordered are ready,” Peter said, jogging over.
“Good,” Matthew replied shortly.
