Adriana walked over to the fridge to grab a drink for Darren and took the chance to start a video call with Curtis.

“Adriana, Curtis is gonna dump you sooner or later. He doesn’t even know what you’re doing behind his back. Why not have a night with me? Maybe I’ll decide you’re worth 30 million dollars a year too. I can afford it,” Darren teased, lounging lazily on the couch with a smirk.

He was waiting for her to take the bait.

In his eyes, Adriana was just hopping between Matthew and Curtis for money.

“Whatever Curtis or Matthew can give you, I can give you too,” Darren said confidently.

Adriana poured the drink straight into the trash. This man wasn’t worth the air he breathed.

Darren sighed dramatically. “Come on, I’m not worse than those two, am I?”

“Mr. Maldonado, I’m Curtis’s wife,” Adriana said coldly. “You barged into my room–are you trying to harass me, or do you want me to cheat on my husband with you?”

Darren coughed, caught off guard. Adriana looked so gentle, yet her tone somehow made him feel guilty. He glanced at the door. Matthew should be arriving soon with Harold.

If you want to sleep with me, I wouldn’t say no,” he said, stepping closer with a smirk.

On Adriana’s phone screen, Curtis’s face turned dark. He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Darren, are you that desperate for company? Wait until I get back—I’ll keep you company myself.”

Darren froze, nearly tripping over himself in shock. “What the–Curtis? Where the hell are you?”

Adriana lifted her phone, glaring at him. “I’m on a video call with Curtis.”

Darren was stunned, furious, and a little guilty all at once. He pointed at Adriana, speechless for a moment. Great–just great. He’d actually fallen into the trap of someone who looked as

harmless as a kitten.

“No, Curtis, let me explain! I was just kidding around,” he stammered, panic rising in his chest.

They were friends, sure–but he was still terrified of Curtis.

Darren didn’t wait another second. Forget the deal Matthew promised him. He bolted out of the room.

Adriana exhaled and sat down on the couch, turning her gaze back to the screen. “Are you busy? I didn’t bother you, did I?”

Curtis looked like he was in his office.

“It’s fine. You matter,” he said lightly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Her ears turned scarlet. She still wasn’t used to him saying things like that–it made her greedy for more.

“Curtis, maybe you should get back to work,” she murmured, not wanting to be a distraction.

“Are you feeling okay?” he asked quietly.

Adriana sighed. Her period had already ended, but it had been weird this time–barely any blood at all.

“I … ” she began, ready to tell him about it, but loud voices sounded outside, followed by the click of a key card. The door swung open.

“My friend saw her checking into this hotel with another man! Adriana is a shameless, indecent woman!” Nicole stormed in, dragging Matthew, Harold, and Margaret with her.

Margaret looked anxious, glancing between Adriana and the others.

Adriana sat there stunned, not even reacting for a moment.

On the video screen, Curtis’s expression turned dark and dangerous.

“Where’s the man?” Nicole demanded when she saw Adriana sitting alone on the couch, staring at her phone. Her intel couldn’t be wrong–she began searching the entire room, the bathroom, and every corner. Nothing.

That’s when Adriana realized why Darren had tried so hard to get into her room earlier,

Curtis had figured it out the moment Nicole walked through the door.

Things were about to get very bad for the Maldonado family.

“Ms. Hensley.” Adriana stood up, facing Margaret.
