Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 18

Natalie chuckled. In her past life, Queena had warned her that Sebastian would be the death of her, but she hadn’t listened. Queena's a skilled practitioner of metaphysics, and her predictions were always accurate. She hadn't believed her then, too infatuated with the man's looks. Now she did. Sebastian would believe Joanna even if she farted rainbows. No matter how many times Joanna framed her, he would never believe her, only the girl he grew up with. The sight of them together now made her sick to her stomach.

Queena hugged her again, her touch gentle and comforting. “That’s wonderful, Natalie. You’ve finally come to your senses. No more loving that scumbag Sebastian, who took everything you gave and still treated you like dirt. Come on, let’s go. A man like that belongs in a dumpster. I’ll take you to get that cheek looked at. The person who hit you will not have a happy ending.” She took Natalie’s hand and led her away.

A cold smile touched Natalie’s lips. Of course he wouldn’t have a happy ending. She would make sure of it. She sent a quick text to Luna, telling her to sneak in and wake up Mrs. Spencer Sr. Mrs. Spencer Sr.’s foot had been poisoned, and the toxin was rare and difficult to counteract. Most doctors wouldn't be able to diagnose it.

Sebastian watched them leave, his fists clenched. Natalie was serious this time. He had only been trying to protect Joanna, his childhood friend, who was a sensitive soul. He had hit Natalie because he was angry, because he thought she had been capable of something as vile as arranging a kidnapping. But it had all been a misunderstanding. A sudden thought struck him: he didn't want to get a divorce. The thought of Natalie being gone for good left a hollow ache in his chest.

He knew how good she had been to him. Every morning, she made him a nutritious breakfast. Every night, she waited up for him to come home. The emptiness of the house these past few months was a stark reminder of her absence. His face clouded over. But then he thought of Joanna, the girl who had grown up with him, constantly being bullied by Natalie, and the memory of Natalie’s kindness was instantly eclipsed by his loyalty to his childhood friend.
