Before Natalie could even call out his name, she saw them locked in an embrace.
Her brow furrowed, a flash of pain in her eyes.
Did Sebastian call me here just to watch them flaunt their love?
Sebastian saw Natalie, and the pain in her eyes struck him like a physical blow. He shoved Joanna away.
Joanna landed on the floor in a heap, her gaze dark as she watched Sebastian’s back.
“Natalie, let me explain—”
“Explain what? How passionate your night was? Did you call me here just to watch this sickening display?”
“Sebastian, I remember you being cold, but I never thought you were this despicable.”
“I guess you really do become like the company you keep.”
Natalie turned and walked out, not wanting to spend another second in that house.
“Natalie, get back here!” Sebastian roared.
A triumphant smirk played on Joanna’s lips as she watched Natalie leave. Her timing couldn’t have been more perfect. She hadn’t expected Natalie to show up.
She slowly got to her feet and walked over to Sebastian, taking his arm.
“Sebastian, Natalie clearly doesn’t want to come back. Why are you forcing her? Her heart was never here with you. She’s been with countless men since she left. Have you forgotten the promises you made to me?”
“I’ve known since I was a little girl that I was going to marry you. I rejected every other man who pursued me, dedicating myself to you. Sebastian, it was your mother who forced me away back then. It’s not that I didn’t want to take care of you.”
“Enough. Get out of my house, now,” Sebastian growled, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light. He didn’t want to hear any more of her lies.
Joanna bit her lip, looking at his cold, handsome face. Her anger had reached its peak, but she knew him well enough to recognize when he was on the verge of exploding. She turned and left without another word, not daring to test his limits.
Sebastian had grown up in darkness. He was not a good person, and while she knew his temper, his true thoughts remained a mystery to her.
He sat on the sofa, his eyes cold and hard. After a moment, he called Sean.
“Sir.” Sean had been standing outside the door. He had seen Natalie storm out, followed by a tearful Joanna.
