She wondered what had happened with Mr. Wilson and Marshall, but Marshall hadn't shared any updates that afternoon. Pushing Sebastian's message from her mind, Natalie closed her eyes and tried to sleep.
In his office, Sebastian stared at his phone. The message he'd sent remained unanswered. He knew she wouldn't reply. Just then, Sean walked in with a late-night meal. "Sir, you should eat something," he said with a smile. "Alright," Sebastian replied, standing up. "Any luck finding that man?"
Sean shook his head. "No trace of him, sir. But your father called. He wants to see you tomorrow."
"I suspect," Sean added, "that he wants you to divorce Ms. Sanders and marry Ms. Scott."
Sebastian sneered, a murderous glint in his eyes. "He wants to control me now? In his dreams."
Sean offered a reminder. "Sir, Ms. Scott is being cautious. The fact that she sent those photos to Ms. Sanders means she isn't afraid of being investigated. We really haven't found any trace of that man." They were stuck in a loop.
Sebastian picked up a shrimp and ate it, his gaze fixed on Sean, who shifted uncomfortably. "Sir," Sean asked with a forced smile, "why are you looking at me like that?"
"Natalie knows a lot more than she lets on," Sebastian said after swallowing. "She knows about the man behind Joanna. She hasn't moved against Joanna because she's waiting for her to destroy the Scott family... and me. That man is real."
Sean was stunned. "Sir, that would require an incredible amount of hatred, to just stand by and watch all that happen."
"After you finish eating, find out who it was," Sebastian ordered.
"Yes, sir."
The next day, Natalie skipped the office. With the design drafts finished, she drove to meet Zenobia instead. Joanna, meanwhile, showed up at Natalie's office early in the morning, only to find her gone. Natalie had deliberately asked Luna to stay and manage things, predicting that Joanna, having discovered she was a designer, wouldn't leave her alone. She'd told Luna that if Joanna came looking for her, she should let her into the office.
When Luna saw Joanna arrive, she sighed. Natalie had been right. Joanna strode into the office, her eyes filled with envy. How did Natalie deserve an office this nice? She looked down her nose at Luna. "Where's Natalie? Tell her I'm here."
