Sebastian glanced at Joanna, a cold smirk playing on his lips. “My condition is that you kill your illegitimate son and daughter. Send your mistress and the woman from your other family abroad. You do all that, and I’ll marry Joanna.”
Timothy froze, taking a moment to process his words before roaring in fury, “Sebastian, you son of a bitch, how dare you say something like that?”
Sebastian’s smile was knowing as he simply watched his father rage.
So he knows how to get angry now, does he? Where was this fire before? For Timothy, Sebastian felt nothing but a desire to kill. For Sebastian, Timothy felt nothing but hate.
In that instant, Joanna's excitement was doused with a bucket of ice water, chilling her to the bone.
“Sebastian, what do you mean by that?” Her heart tightened, her eyes red with grievance as she looked at him. This man was truly useless.
Sebastian looked at her coolly. “Ms. Scott, do you remember what I told you? My grandfather would never let you into the Griffith family. Even if I divorce Natalie, you won’t be the one I marry.”
“Since this is a marriage of convenience, the partner needs to bring something to the table, right?”
With that, Sebastian stood up and walked away, his icy voice leaving Joanna frozen solid.
So, to him, she brings nothing. Sebastian looked down on her.
She’d always known it, but she just couldn’t accept it.
Joanna’s eyes were red with anger. It was those two old fools from the Spencer family who had stopped her from marrying Sebastian back then.
In a fit of pique, she had fabricated a reason to go abroad, hoping to make Sebastian feel guilty. He did feel guilty, but he never treated her as well as he used to.
“What do we do now? Sebastian…”
“What do we do? You’re useless! I orchestrated the whole life-saving incident to make Sebastian devoted to you. If he had married you, everything would have fallen into place. But what have you been doing all this time?”
“You can’t even handle a woman like Natalie? She’s in your way. There are plenty of ways to get rid of her. Don’t let her grow wings, or she’ll be even harder to deal with later.”
It wouldn't be surprising if a father wanted to kill his own son, not when that father was Timothy.
The man had always been ruthless, with countless mistresses and illegitimate children.
Suddenly, a thought struck Natalie.
There was another possibility. Everything Timothy was doing now was to pave the way for one of his illegitimate children.
She remembered Sebastian's mother mentioning something once—Timothy had a childhood sweetheart.
But back then, the Griffith family business was in trouble, which led to the marriage alliance with Sebastian's mother.
After the crisis was averted, he abandoned his wife and son, rarely returning home as he lived a married life with his childhood sweetheart.
