But who was this woman?
It seemed she needed to find an opportunity to visit her mother-in-law.
She recalled that Timothy’s first love was a few years younger than him. After he got married, he even held a grand proposal ceremony for his old flame.
This man was terrifying. He had devoured everything from Sebastian's maternal grandmother's family and could still sit across from Sebastian at dinner without batting an eye.
He knew their father-son relationship was beyond repair.
In that case, there could only be one reason: he planned to discard Sebastian and let one of his illegitimate children take over the Griffith Group.
But as long as the old man was alive, his illegitimate children would never have a chance.
Old Mr. Griffith had given all his shares to Sebastian.
He was a smart man. He knew that if he had held onto those shares himself, he would have been dead a hundred times over.
Natalie shook her head. Sebastian was truly unlucky.
And she was even unluckier.
After finishing her meal, Natalie went to say goodbye to Marshall, who had plans to go to a bar with friends that evening.
“Natalie, come to the bar with me. All my friends want to meet you,” Marshall said, his charming eyes full of anticipation.
Natalie waved her hand, needing to get back to her design sketches. “I can’t. I don’t like bars, and I have work to do. You go have fun.”
“Come on! We’re the same age. This is the time to have fun. Why are you working yourself so hard? Go relax a little.” Marshall was insistent. He loved going to bars at night.
Staying home just meant playing video games, which wasn't nearly as much fun.
Natalie still refused, her mind still a bit muddled.
Marshall grinned foolishly. This old man was adorable.
He absolutely loved such a lively character.
“Hello, Grandpa. I’m Marshall,” he said, introducing himself formally.
“Marshall, hello, hello! I know your grandmother. She’s a remarkable woman,” the old man said cheerfully.
Marshall puffed out his chest with a little pride. It was true. His grandmother had been the famous one, a debutante skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and she was an accomplished swimmer to boot.
“Alright,” the old man said, “you two go on your date. I’m going to go have some fun.”
And with that, he hung up.
Natalie sighed and rubbed her forehead. Grandpa was always so mischievous.
