Natalie’s eyes sparkled as she smiled beautifully. “Mr. Monroe, how about you do me a favor and let us drive you home?”
Matthew was stunned for a moment, then broke into a wide, happy smile. “Silly girl, why would a grown man like me need you to drive me home?” His laughter was genuine, brighter than the moon outside.
“I just want to, that’s all,” Natalie insisted, making her intentions clear.
Matthew pretended to consider it. “Well, all right. If you’re so set on driving me home, then I’ll let you.” He was curious to see what she was up to. In just a few days, she had thoroughly captivated him. He knew, however, that the look in her eyes was one of admiration, not romantic interest. He had no idea what he had done to earn such worshipful gazes.
Natalie turned to Luna excitedly. “Luna, go get the car!”
Luna sighed internally. Had her boss’s romantic-fool phase returned? Just after getting over Sebastian, was she now latching onto Matthew? Little did she know, Natalie was thinking about a business partnership. Her romantic brain had been switched off for good.
She wanted to get Q&N Collective onto Matthew’s highly successful live-streaming sales platform. With autumn just beginning, they could make a fortune on their winter collection. No one was going to stand in the way of her making money.
“Mr. Monroe, on the way back, could we discuss a potential collaboration? I know your MMO Group is the hottest platform right now. I could walk you through my proposal, and I’ll have a detailed plan for you by tomorrow.”
Matthew smiled, his gaze deep and compelling. “Natalie, you don’t need to be so formal with me. I trust your abilities and your products. Trust between people can be established from the very first meeting.”
Yes, she thought, trust can be built in an instant. But some people just choose to be idiots.
“Heh… I knew I wasn’t wrong about you. Unlike some people who seem to have voluntarily lowered their IQ,” Natalie said, the thought of Sebastian making her blood boil.
