Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 66

Zachary grinned, mischief in his eyes.

"Come on, Benedict, don't play coy with us. We walked past the next private room just now—we saw your wife clinking glasses with Mr. Holloway and toasting to a successful partnership."

A jolt shot through Benedict, but he couldn't hold back a surge of happiness. He spun around and headed straight out of the parking garage.

He knew it—Cynthia would never betray him.

She was getting close to Dominic for the sake of VistaSphere Group, for their future together.

"Benedict…" Giselle stared at the joy lighting up Benedict's face, confusion and a creeping sense of dread swirling inside her. "Did something good just happen?"

The tension in Benedict's brow melted away, replaced by a faint, triumphant smile.

"Cynthia was never upstairs. How could I have doubted her? She's doing all this for VistaSphere Group, for us, for our future."

Giselle's expression froze, her lips pressed tight in silence.

Lois, seeing how overjoyed Benedict was, finally muttered her concern. "But she kept it from you—she was sitting in another man's car, and—"

Benedict cut her off. "Mom, I'm not going to argue about what you said before, but from now on, no more badmouthing Cyndi."

Lois grumbled, "But—"

"No buts," Benedict said firmly. "Mom, all you need to remember is that I'm about to make a fortune. With Holloway Enterprises backing us, I could end up the richest man in Cloudcrest City."

For a moment, Lois was too stunned to speak. She'd never liked Cynthia, but now she couldn't hide her excitement. "Cyndi landed a deal that big?"

Benedict nodded. "I have to get back to the dinner right away. She hates these networking events, so I need to be there for her."
