Cynthia waited for about half an hour, but Dominic never replied. That only made her more certain of her suspicions.
Honestly, she couldn't blame him. It made sense.
She didn't bother texting Dominic again. There was no point pestering him.
She set her phone aside, curled up, and drifted off to sleep.
Thanks to Dominic's interruption, all those messy thoughts about Benedict that had been circling in her head faded away. It wasn't long before she fell sound asleep.

"Who knows?" Cynthia replied. "I can't keep an eye on you every second, can I? Maybe you should call someone else and ask."
Benedict went quiet.
Cynthia put the phone down on the counter and kept getting ready. If he stayed silent, so would she.
Several long moments passed—so long that Cynthia thought he'd hung up—before his voice came through again.
"Cyndi, aren't you meeting Mr. Holloway today to sign the contract? I'll come with you. I'm on my way now."
Cynthia gave a short, cold laugh. "Didn't you say you blacked out last night? Funny how you remember all this so clearly."
Benedict paused, caught off guard, but quickly recovered.
"You worked really hard to close this deal with Holloway Enterprises. Of course I wouldn't forget. Let me come with you. You haven't been at the company in six months; you're not up to speed with everything yet, and I just don't want—"
