Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 37

No one was obligated to forgive the other party just because they apologized. Plus, Isabella had never been the forgiving type.

The next morning at work, she found out Jessie had resigned. HR, for once, actually did its job and processed her resignation within minutes. In less than an hour, Jessie was out of the company.

On top of that, Gavin was reassigned to Riverine. Unlike Jessie, he didn't quit but went straight away.

For some reason, Isabella suddenly felt like the whole world had quieted down. She had no idea what Alexander had been up to these past couple of days.

He'd stayed locked in his office, and the phone that used to ring constantly hadn't rung once all day. If it weren't for the occasional sound of his voice on a call, she might've thought he hadn't shown up at all.

Meanwhile, in the CEO's office at Sinclair Group's headquarters, Theodore stared at the pile of photos on his desk. His face grew darker by the second. Across from him, Emma stood frozen, barely daring to breathe.

The silence dragged on until he finally spoke in an icy voice. "When's that brat planning to confess?"

Emma fought to keep her voice steady. "Probably tomorrow… or the day after."

What a nightmare.

The nephew was planning to confess his feelings to his aunt. No wonder Theodore looked ready to explode.

"Postpone the meeting tomorrow evening," he said.

Emma almost automatically agreed, but then remembered. "But Mr. Sinclair, it's the overseas board meeting tomorrow. They're voting on the Navalen project…"

In other words, it was an important meeting.

"Postpone it," Theodore repeated flatly.

Emma had no choice. "Yes, Mr. Sinclair. Then, what's the plan for tomorrow?"
