Isabella looked calm and composed up until she entered the elevator, whereupon she slowly unclenched her fists. She was caught up in anger and fear, but she had forced herself to remain calm in front of Giselle.

The moment she thought of the Nathan Giselle described, she panicked.

When Theodore had rushed into the private room to rescue her that day, he had immediately covered her eyes. She had been too overwhelmed by fear and panic to think much of it back then, but recalling Nathan's horrible screams, it really was quite terrifying.

Was Nathan already disabled and disfigured then?

Could the evidence Giselle have on hand be the surveillance footage from that restaurant? If that really were the case, the evidence had to be destroyed! However, Giselle wanted money… and Isabella couldn't possibly ask Theodore for that money. She had to resolve this situation herself.

She spent the entire afternoon feeling troubled over Giselle's visit. After returning home from work and seeing the unwelcome guest the moment she walked through the door, she became even more irritated.

Queenie was cooking with Ruth in the kitchen. Theodore had also come home early and was reading in the living room. He occasionally looked up to respond to something Queenie said from the kitchen.

It was a pity that Isabella had arrived, ruining their wonderful moment together.

Isabella didn't feel the least bit ashamed about being the glaring third wheel in the room. She sat down next to Theodore and praised openly, "So, you can also cook, Ms. Klein? How amazing."

Theodore set down the book in his arms and hugged her. He stroked her head as if soothing a child and said gently, "Queenie suffered quite a bit back when she followed me abroad. Meals were a luxury back then. It was during that period that Queenie learned to cook, because we could save some money that way. So, I owe her for that."

Isabella stared dazedly at Theodore, stunned. She had assumed that someone born into a wealthy family like his wouldn't understand what it was like to go hungry.

"Were the two of you—"

Queenie's voice just so happened to interrupt her. "It's time to eat!"

Theodore asked patiently, "What were you going to say just now?"

Isabella hesitated momentarily before shaking her head. She had initially planned to ask, "Were the two of you a couple back then? Did you break up afterward?"

Still, she swallowed the words that had been at the tip of her tongue.

When she sat down, Queenie didn't invite contempt by asking Theodore to sit next to herself this time. Instead, she enthusiastically spooned food onto Theodore's plate and spoke as intimately as if they had been together for years.
