Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1530

In the hospital.

"Aunt Alice, Patrick and I are here to visit you and Dad!"

Alice was massaging George's fingers when she heard Amelia's warm greeting. She turned around and said smilingly, "You're here."

Patrick nodded as he greeted, "Aunt Alice."

Amelia noticed that Alice had been beaming. She could not help asking, "Aunt Alice, is there any good news that put a smile on your face?"

Alice replied, "Amelia, you may not believe me but I still have to tell you this. I saw your father's finger moving just now! He moved his fingers without being exposed to any external triggers! Do you think that it's a sign that he is waking up very soon?"

Since George fell into a coma, usually he would not move unless there were people who triggered him on purpose. The truth was it was the first time Amelia ever heard George showing such improvement.

She subconsciously glanced at Patrick's direction. He gave her a brief smile as if he had foreseen that to happen.

In that case, that would simply imply that the course of injection for George all this while had been working miraculously!

Feeling elated, Amelia glanced at the old man who was lying on the bed. A surge of indescribable feeling began to sweep her away. She was thankful that George had been saved in time.

"Amy, I know that you're happy, but Aunt Alice is talking to you." At this time, Patrick reached out to hold her waist in an attempt to remind her not to raise Alice's suspicion.

At this juncture, they were yet to tell Alice regarding the fact that George had been poisoned. They thought that it would be best to wait until George regained consciousness.

Coming back to her senses, Amelia said, "I'm too happy that I don't know what to say right now!"

Alice burst out laughing as she heard that. She then pointed at the luggage next to the bed as she said, "Amelia, those are the clothes that I brought for you. Do you want to have a look at them?"

Amelia walked to her and said flatteringly, "There's no need, Aunt Alice. You're such a reliable person that I can literally entrust you with anything."

Alice poked her forehead and grunted heartily, "You've always been so sweet! You flatter me all the time!"

Amelia covered her forehead mischievously. Glancing at George, she offered, "Aunt Alice, can I help you?"

"That's great! You can massage your father's legs. Who knows he'll be able to get down from the bed and walk on his own." There was a spark of hope in Alice's voice as she said.

Despite knowing that it was rather impossible, nonetheless Amelia went on to reply, "I also think like this!"

With that said, she began massaging George's thighs. At the sight of this, Alice could not help getting fond of her.

Amelia had been massaging George's legs attentively to the extent that she did not even notice when Alice and Patrick had left the ward.

Patrick came to the door after being gestured by Alice to follow her. He asked, "Aunt Alice, is there anything that you'd like to tell me?"

Withdrawing gaze that fell on Amelia, Alice turned around to look at Patrick. She muttered, "Amelia is kind and sweet. Even after learning the fact that George is not her birth father, she still cares as much for him."

Patrick replied faintly, "This will never change for her."

"Mm... Patrick, I have two things to discuss with you. That's why I wish to talk to you in person."

"What's the matter?"

Alice began updating Patrick with regards to the mole undercovering in The Ramsay Family. "I've detained Lydia in her room for a couple of days since then. I thought of telling Amelia and leaving her to handle this on her own. But on a second thought, I think perhaps you'll have a better idea. That's why I'm asking for your opinion."

Patrick fell back into a moment of silence. He knew very well for a fact that there was a high chance for him to lose his temper and control if Alice were to surrender Lydia to him. In the worst case, he might torture her to death. However, Owen on the other hand, was a better person to handle a wrongdoer. Patrick was certain that Owen had his way of making Lydia suffer for her wrong!

In the split of a second, Patrick had already come out with a convincing approach. "Aunt Alice, I think that it is against the law and morality to restrict one's freedom. Even if he did commit wrong, it'd be best to surrender him to the law enforcement authorities."

"You too think like this, don't you? Actually I've been pondering on this question these days." Alice was a straight person after all. She reviewed her own actions as she heard Patrick's words. Little did she know that Patrick was in fact having a more dreadful plan in his mind.

"Aunt Alice, listen here. First of all, I disagree with you continuing to detain Lydia. If this news were to leak out, I'm afraid that your reputation will be jeopardized.

On second point, I hope that you won't tell Amy with regards to this matter. Look, she doesn't even bother to fight back or revenge Brittany and Kaleb who are the culprits of this whole incident. What makes you think that she will take any action against a maid?

In that case, Lydia will be let go freely without getting the requisite punishment. She'll never learn her lesson then."

Alice could not help nodding at Patrick's words humbly.

"Hence, the most appropriate way to handle this is to send Lydia to a police station and charge her with theft."

"That's all?" Hesitating, Alice felt as if that kind of punishment was far not enough for her to pay for what she had done.

Anyway, they are blood relatives of Ramsay. Even if they were to take over control of the company, they certainly have a right to do so."

As Amelia's voice fell, George's finger trembled agitatedly.

Unfortunately, Amelia did not notice still. At last, she muttered, "Dad, thank you for raising and taking good care of me all this while... I love you, Dad."

At the same time at Kaleb's house.

Kaleb was feeling vexed these days. At first, he had not been taking it seriously as he assumed that the trivial matters were not worth of his attention. What he did not expect was that those triviality would have so-called snowball effect and turned out to be much more serious than he first thought.

And that the culprit behind the snowball was Jonathan!

Kaleb's original plan was to source support from those six neutral shareholders. In that case, all he needed was to spend the minimum in order to achieve the ideal outcome.

However, Jonathan was cunning than ever. He purposely spread news among all the neutral shareholders and accused Kaleb for being biased. According to Jonathan, Kaleb only paid visit to a couple of senior shareholders and that he did not seem to respect the others.

The news was widely spread among the shareholders. Such allegations had no doubt resulted in them despising Kaleb. Had it be in the past, those shareholders would at least show Kaleb the basic respect and acknowledge him when they walked pass him. However, at this time no one would bother to entertain him, let alone allying themselves with him.

At first, Kaleb had no idea who was the culprit behind the scene. Nevertheless, it was not impossible for Kaleb to find out after he filtered out those which were suspicious. As soon as he got an answer in his mind, he rolled up his sleeves and went to confront with Jonathan!

Jonathan replied faintly when he faced with Kaleb's confrontation, "Did I made it up?" Finding himself unable to retort, Kaleb had no other choice but to return to his own office in frustration.

At the sight of Kaleb pulling his face, his colleagues began proposing him with ideas. The idea that received most supports was to have him bribe all the neutral shareholders. That was perhaps the safest strategy to secure his chance of winning. In that case, Jonathan would end up becoming a clown in the company.

However, there were a total of fifteen people who were neutral. If he were to offer one million dollar for everyone, that would cost him a total of fifteen million dollar! There was no way that he could afford payment of a fortune like that.

It seemed like Kaleb was watching the television at this time. Nonetheless, the truth was he was not paying attention to the TV program. In fact, he had been cursing Jonathan spitefully from the bottom of his heart, "It's all your d*mn fault, Jonathan! What a shabby dirty trick! What a villain you are!"

As for Brittany who was sitting right at the opposite of Kaleb, it happened that she received a text message from Yancie at this time. She was told that Yancie was already waiting downstairs.

"It's show time!"

A victorious smile began to creep onto the corner of Brittany's lips unnoticeably. In the next second, she deleted the text message.

A short while later, the doorbell of the house began ringing. Since both Kaleb and Brittany seemed to be having their eyes on the television, in that case the duty to answer the door fell onto Fiona.
