Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1601

When Patrick returned from sending Granny Hopper home, Amelia was waiting for him at the dinner table.

The sight of this warmed Patrick's heart. He stepped forward to hug Amelia's shoulder and kissed her on the lips. "I'm going to wash my hands."

Amelia kissed him back on his cheek. "Okay, I'll wait for you."

When Patrick came back to his seat after washing his hands, there was a bowl in front of him. He understood and asked, "Is this the bird's nest that granny made for you?"

Amelia replied, "Yes. She made a lot. Let's share it."

Patrick then started to eat.

During the meal, Amelia said, "By the way, I called Alice, and she said she knows my birth chart. But it was forged by my parents to convince their relatives. Do you want to bring it to granny?"

Patrick had mixed feelings about what she said. He was worried that Amelia would be unhappy about this matter, but she had brought it up on her own. So he replied, "Amy, should we ask the dean of Kindness Orphanage about your background?"

Amelia was taken aback and responded with a strange expression, "I don't think I was abandoned right after I was born. What's more, more than twenty years have passed. Is the dean of Kindness Orphanage still the same person?"

"What if we follow this clue to the orphanage and find your biological parents? They should know when you were born."

Patrick remembered Amelia mentioning that she wanted to know if her biological parents were still alive. If they were, she wanted to ask them why did they neglect her.

Amelia wanted to agree to the suggestion. But the thought soon disappeared as she said, "Actually, my life is pretty good now. As for who my biological parents are, to be a little ignorant, what if they are beggars?"

"Should I support them after finding them? If they're an ordinary couple, maybe they abandoned me because they preferred a son to a daughter."

"If they're rich, then I can't wrap my head around why they left me. No matter the reason, I'll only end up holding a grudge against them. So, it's better not to find them."

While Amelia immersed in her pessimistic thoughts, Patrick raised another possibility, "Have you ever thought that you might have been abducted or taken away?"

Amelia frowned when she heard him. She could not deny this possibility, but it felt too unlikely. If she was kidnapped or snatched, why would she end up in an orphanage instead of a trafficker's home?

"I...I don't know about that..."

Patrick answered slowly when he saw Amelia's complex expression, "Okay, Amy, I won't force you. Let's use the fake birth chart your parents made for you."

Amelia nodded after a sigh of relief, the crease between her brows softening.

At this moment, the romantic scene of Patrick proposing to Amelia last night spread on Instagram in Northville.

Brittany and Amelia were sisters in the public's eyes, so their followers consisted of quite the same crowd. In other words, Amelia's followers might very well be Brittany's followers too.

As a result, Brittany noticed the proposal picture when one of her friends shared it. When she saw the repost, she burst into an outrage!

"Good one, Amelia! I'm living in an abyss of suffering, and you only care about showing off your affection with your man! And now you want to remarry him?"

"Well, since you're so heartless, don't blame me for being vile!" Brittany thought to herself in ire.

After making up her mind, Brittany logged onto the most popular social website in Northville and made a post anonymously.

'Breaking news! The eldest daughter of the Ramsay family is not actually George Ramsay and his first wife's biological daughter!'

After Brittany drafted the title, she proceeded to spill the beans on the thread, even using her phone to upload Amelia's adoption certificate and blood-type report. Finally, she pressed the 'share' button.

A few seconds later, someone left a comment.

The user's name was 'Catgirl Who Doesn't Eat Cat Food', who commented, 'OP, is the 'eldest daughter' of the Ramsay family you mentioned Amelia Ramsay'?'

"Here they come!" Brittany was thrilled.

Brittany's eyes lit up with joy as she fired away, 'That's right!'

After another short while, another user commented, "Ah? I saw her photos on my friend's repost this morning. She looks like a noble lady from a wealthy family!'

Brittany sneered and responded, 'She was raised by the Ramsay family for more than 20 years. Even an ugly duckling can grow into a swan that way!'

In two minutes, more comments jumped into Brittany's view. Brittany scanned them in a hurry and fixed her gaze on the last one.

'OP, is this reliable news? Or are you posting such composited photos to put off people's opinion of Amelia because you're jealous of her happiness? You must either be a loser or hideous behind the screen.'

Then, Patrick's phone rang. He picked it up to have a look and reported to Amelia without thinking, "It's Richard."

Oh. That baby-faced man.

Amelia nodded, indicating that she got it.

Patrick answered the phone and heard Richard's report on the matter from the forum.

Patrick's face darkened. He glanced at Amelia calmly then asked in a low voice, "Did you find out who did it?"

"Yes, I found it. It should be Kaleb Ramsay." Because Brittany was currently living in Kaleb's house, the results Richard had investigated concluded to some deviations.

"Gather a few men to his house and teach him a lesson. But don't kill him." After Patrick finished speaking, he ended the call.

Amelia gawked at him with horror.

At her reaction, Patrick restrained his imposing manner. He raised a hand and smoothed the top of her head, then brought the washed grapes from the table to her lips. "Come on, open up."

Amelia, who was startled by his domineering tone, immediately parted her mouth and ate the grapes.

"Is it delicious?" Worrying that what he said had frightened her, Patrick stroked her long hair that was hanging on her shoulders as if he was petting a cat.

"It's delicious." Amelia chewed on the grapes, thinking about who Patrick had intended to give a beating.

Just as she was about to ask, Patrick stuffed another grape into her mouth. She had no choice but to continue chewing.

When the plate of grapes emptied and filled her stomach, Patrick picked up the remote and said, "Amy, we should go to bed."

Amelia looked at the clock and found that it was only ten o'clock. It was not that late.

However, Patrick resolutely turned off the TV and carried her to the second floor, then walked into their bedroom.

Amelia thought she could lie in bed and play with her phone for a moment before sleeping. But as soon as she took out her phone, Patrick pulled at her hand and forcefully stuffed her arms under the blanket. "Playing your phone while lying down is damaging for your eyesight. We should go to sleep now."
