Nancy could barely process anything after receiving such a crippling blow. It felt like she had plunged into a cold, dark pool- one she might drown in at any moment.

But inside the company, employees were stunned when they learned Ariel had replaced Nancy as their new boss. Most had been aware of the connection between the two women; now they had clear confirmation and a stronger sense of whom to respect.

Just as she stepped into the lobby, she heard footsteps. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Ariel entering, flanked by several members of the management team who reported dutifully to her.

Ariel stood out, commanding respect from those around her. Meanwhile, Nancy, isolated and alone, looked nothing but sad and

Nancy’s expression hardened as she tightened her fists.

Ariel was heading upstairs and needed the elevator. By coincidence she and Nancy ran into each other there.

Nancy detected the sympathetic gazes and felt them like needles poking her skin, making her extremely annoyed. Still, she clenched her jaw and endured the feeling.

As the group stepped into the elevator, Nancy’s voice cut coldly through the air. “Ariel, let’s see how long you can keep this business running.”

Ariel smirked, glancing sideways. “Did Jayson not drive you here day?”

Ariel, stepping into the elevator, turned back with a mocking smile “I’ll be waiting. ”

Once the doors closed, Nancy breathed out slowly. Cornered though she was, she refused to lose her composure in front of others.

Nexura Solutions had sent their final warning. If she resisted the city transfer procedures, legal action would follow, and it was a move Nancy couldn’t contest.

She had lost all options at the moment.

Steeling herself, Nancy headed upstairs to pack her things. People eyes followed her every move.
