Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 524

Chapter 524

Ariel could sense the subtle changes in Nancy’s actions and behavior. She had no idea whether this was how Nancy had always been or whether she had undergone a gradual change after the recent incidents.

Ariel wasn’t exactly that surprised since Nancy had hardly faced any hardships in life. It was only natural for her to be upset when Cecilia wouldn’t seem to stop giving her a hard time.

Anyway, Ariel couldn’t be bothered to meddle in these affairs.

After she checked the factory’s latest progress, Ariel also needed to pick a suitable birthday gift for Cecilia.

Chad wouldn’t be attending the party with them. Ariel decided to ask Janice instead.

Janice agreed to come along almost immediately as she enjoyed these fun occasions.

Cecilia had thrown a pretty grand birthday party. An entire cruise ship was chartered for the event.

As soon as they arrived at the party, Ariel and Janice noticed the large number of guests. Many of them were people Janice knew, and she’d been busy greeting them ever since they got there.

Ariel barely knew anyone there. She had hardly expanded her social circle during the past few years.

Apart from work acquaintances, the only people Ariel would consider to be her closest friends were Chad and Janice. The rest of the people whom she knew or recognized were all Jayson’s friends.

Ariel and Janice went to the fifth floor of the ship.

Someone like Cecilia had established numerous connections. People from various backgrounds and professions were in attendance at today’s event.

Ariel and Janice even spotted Frederick, who was chatting with a few people in the distance.

When she saw him, Janice was honestly confused as to what Frederick was doing here since he and Cecilia hardly knew each other.

Eventually, Cecilia spotted Ariel. She put down her glass and went up to Ariel and Janice. I was waiting for the two of you. We invited a lot of friends and family as well. I hope you won’t mind the crowd?

Ariel smiled and shook her head. It’s fine. It’s livelier and more fun this way.

Janice passed Cecilia her birthday gift. Then, she walked away to grab a drink. Janice also carefully selected and brought Ariel a glass of pineapple juice.

I know a few people who work in the same industry as you guys that you should probably get acquainted with. I’ll introduce them to you two in a bit.Cecilia turned slightly and pointed in several directions to show Ariel where those people were.

Ariel followed her gaze and noticed they were mostly wellknown prominent figures. She was once again reminded of how influential Cecilia and her family were to be able to gather these people here for today’s party.

Thank you. Still, we should be focusing on celebrating your birthday today.Ariel clinked glasses with Cecilia and expressed her gratitude.

Cecilia tilted and beamed. We should be using these connections when we need them. Otherwise, it’d be such a waste.Just then, they heard someone saying, Mr. Larkin, you’re here.

People started looking in the same direction since the most distinguished guest had arrived. For a moment, all eyes were on Jayson.

Ariel paused while she was about to take a sip of her juice. As she lied her gaze, Ariel saw Jayson and Nancy, who showed up together.

Cecilia turned her head and followed other people’s gazes. She seemed amused when she saw the pair. Her brows arched. Mr. Larkin, I’m really glad you’ve decided to grace us with your presene today. However, what’s she doing here?

Cecilia couldn’t be bothered to help Nancy save face. She obviously did not welcome her here.
