Arthur looked at her calmly. “This agreement was signed in your personal capacity, Ms. Stanton. It doesn’t involve Veyo Solutions. You’re required to pay an additional 60 million dollars.”

Nancy’s face stiffened. Eventually, the color completely drained from it.

She had completely forgotten about this personal wager agreement. Even if Veyo Solutions had a new owner, the agreement still applied only to her.

Jayson, holding a black umbrella, stepped closer and watched her through the gate. His expression was

as calm as always. “If you’ve reviewed it, then go back.”

Her breathing was ragged, and her eyes were red. “Jayson, what’s this supposed to mean?”

He lowered his gaze and stared at her. His eyes held a chill, like the rainy night itself.

Nancy felt her world collapse. She staggered forward and clutched the gate railing. “Can we talk? I admit that I shouldn’t have had those thoughts after seeing Mr. Warbrooke. It did put you in a difficult spot, but

we had already… confirmed our relationship. I gave myself to you that day, Jayson. Don’t joke with me

like this.”

It took them so long to confirm their relationship. Everything was finally moving in the right direction.

Matt’s and Perry’s attitude toward her didn’t matter. Only Jayson’s did.

She couldn’t accept this.

If Jayson brought up the wager agreement at this crucial moment, it would really crush her.

That night on the cruise ship, he had never explicitly denied it!

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have believed they were already intimate, or that he would divorce Ariel to

marry her.

Jayson looked at her and said coldly, “I don’t recall ever saying I had any romantic feelings for you, let
