Chapter 633
For a while, the medical staff moved in and out of the room, tending to Ariel. Eventually, only she and Jayson remained.
Jayson tossed Samson’s jacket aside. His gaze darkened when he saw Ariel’s torn, crumpled shirt and the angry red marks on her shoulder.
The emotions he’d been suppressing flared up, and his eyes turned icy.
After staring at her shoulder for some time, he finally spoke, his voice hoarse as if he’d been holding back
for too long. “Do you also think I stole this opportunity from Faye Tech?”
Ariel’s lips parted slightly. She had been upset when she’d heard the host announce Bluum Corp as the
winner. But she also knew this project wasn’t so important to Bluum Corp that Jayson would orchestrate something like this.
“You didn’t plan for this to happen,” she said quietly, her face pale, her tone flat. “But you were still the
cause.”
Jayson didn’t deny it. The man had abducted Ariel to get revenge on him.
Ariel turned to the window, her expression distant. “And Yeager Group missed the bid too. Samson was
searching for me instead of representing his company.”
Jayson’s expression shifted slightly, thoughtful at first, then clearer, sharper. “You think he’s the one who
saved you?”
Ariel didn’t respond. There was no point arguing–the facts were obvious. Samson had been the first to reach her, and his company had paid a steep price because of her.
Before she could say more, Chad burst into the room.
Relief softened his features when he saw Ariel unharmed, but his face was still pale.
Ariel’s chest tightened with guilt. She thought of the employees who had worked tirelessly to prepare their tender proposal.
“Chad, I’m so sorry,” she whispered. “We lost this opportunity because of me.”
Chad frowned, stepping closer to look her over.
“Why would you apologize? You’re far more important than any project, Ari. Do you understand?” He patted her head gently, still shaken. “No one wanted this to happen. You’re the victim here. Faye Tech will have more chances. If we lose this one, we’ll just wait for the next.”
Ariel didn’t know how to respond. Winning this bid had been one of her top priorities, but she was rational enough not to pin all the blame on Jayson. Bluum Corp’s victory and her abduction had been

orchestrated by someone else entirely.
The true culprit was the one who had kidnapped her. Ariel reminded herself of that.
Perhaps another woman would lash out or break down in this situation. Ariel had moved past that stage.
“Who said you lost the project?” Jayson’s voice was low but steady. He hadn’t lit the cigarette between his
fingers.
Both Ariel and Chad turned to him, surprised.
Before they could press for details, Samson’s voice came from the doorway. “What did the doctor say?”
He stepped inside, holding a pearl earring that had fallen from Ariel’s ear during the ordeal.
Jayson’s expression didn’t change as he watched him.
