Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 804

Though Ariel sounded calm, deep down, fear gnawed at her.

This place was already dangerous enough. With Gustavo in hot pursuit, what chance did Jayson really have of making it out alive?

The panic surged through her. Her heart hammered, each beat sharp enough to hurt.

Ariel refused to accept it.

Samson straightened and looked down at her with a calm authority. "You've already missed each other, so why force it? Ariel, it's time to wake up. Men don't change at their core. One flaw leads to another."

Samson frowned but didn't care. Carrying her, he headed toward the villa.

Ariel was livid. She tugged at his collar with both hands. "Let go! Don't touch me!"

Her emotions had been pushed to the limit tonight. She couldn't stay calm and measured with Samson anymore. All she wanted was to leave immediately, without caring whether Samson had any plans.

Samson carried her straight to her bedroom.

He set her down at the edge of the bed and looked at her. "No need to glare at me. I've applied for a flight route. I'll take you back home on a private plane in the next day or two. Who knows…"
