Ariel sat on the edge of the bed, lost in thought. She looked as if she had not slept at all. The news of Jayson's death had likely kept her awake all night.

He stepped forward and stood before her. "I need you to resign your post at the Croinia military base. Call them and tell them you're all right so they will stop searching for you."
